View Full Version : LeBron would not have a single ring if he played his career in the Western Conference

Miami was a 2 seed then

LeBron would have had to play Dallas, Lakers, and either San Antonio/OKC and then Boston in the finals.

NO WAY LeBron outplays Dirk, Kobe, Timmy/Durant, AND KG in one playoff stretch.

that's compared to playing the trash Knicks, young Pacers, and the Celtics they almost lost to.

The only reason they almost lost to the Celtics was because Bosh got injured in the Pacers series. If they are in the West that injury doesnt happen. When Bosh came back they annihilated the Thunder. The best team in the West. The Heat only lost 1 game in which Bosh started. And it was by what 1 point?

But yeah, those Western Teams though. Unstoppable. :oldlol:

Based on what? Having a winning record against the West, or going on a near 20 game win streak against teams in the West while on the Heat?

The Heat had the second longest winning streak of all time vs western teams and were only 1 game away from breaking the record if im not mistaken.

Dat western conference though. :oldlol:

If LeBron was in the Western Conference he'd have better teammates, since the West is so much better than the East. Duh.

He'd easily win a ring in the West.

08-02-2014, 02:27 PM
which team would he be on in the West? Assuming he would bail on Cleveland and instead of joining Miami he joins a west team...

OKC - the league is done. OKC would win all rings until Lebron retires.
Spurs - threepeat (2012-2014)
Memphis - Grizzlies is only really lacking a scoring punch. Adding Lebron would immediately make them contenders
Clippers - a collection of chokers and Lebron is added :facepalm
GSW - Lebron with 3 pointers galore
Portland - Lebron with Lillard and Aldridge. not too shabby

Too many variables to answer this question. What team? Who are his teammates and coach(es)? Where do Wade, Bosh, Melo, etc. play? Impossible to tell.

If he were in the West he would have had much better teammates his whole career, so yeah. He has always dominated Dirk and Kobe in the regular season, so in reality is is them who might not have any rings if he played in the West.

Way to not read my entire sentence. :facepalm Since that Finals victory Dirk has dropped six in a row to Lebron's team. Overall, history says that Lebron is a lot more likely to dominate Dirk than the other way around. One fluke series doesn't change that.

It's the regular season games that are flukes.

And yes, no player in NBA history has benefited more from playing in a weak conference.

He would never have made it out of the first round with his Cavs team.

Lebron has DOMINATED Dirk's team six straight times now! Once or twice in a row could be called a fluke, but SIX?! :biggums: At this point Lebron has achieved ownage status on Dirk and the Mavs, sorry if that hurts your feelings. :( I won't even get into the ownage Bron has displayed over Kobe, cause that would be too easy. :yaohappy:

Keep in mind he had PRIME Wade, ALL STAR Bosh, and CHOKED AWAY a win against the Mavs. Put him on ANY team in the West besides the Thunder pre trade Harden and LeBron WILL NOT WIN A RING.

The East has always been a million times easier to make it to the FINALs in compared to the West.

And LeBron is 2/5 in the Finals.

prime Wade? you named two players on his team with no frontcourt depth and mediocre PG play that he was still able to carry to two finals wins.

Miami was top heavy while the better West teams are very deep. Put Lebron ona really deep West team and they can beat anybody.

You're talking about adding the best player to a team that's already good and they can't win it all? STFU.

I'm talking about the years he actually WON rings in. And none of these teams had the money to sign LeBron anyway. Put him on a Western team with the CAP SPACE, and LeBron does not make it to the finals in the West in ANY SCENARIO.

This is a dumbass thread. What team would he be on? Still Miami? If so they'd win 2 rings in 2012 & 2013, and he wouldn't have made any other finals because he'd lose in 2014 (most likely to the Spurs) and 2011 (most likely to the Mavs) and wouldn't make the finals on those Cavs teams from 2003-2010.

So I guess he'd be a flawless 2/2, still on pace for Jordan and his 6/6. Right?

Most likely he doesn't make the Finals as easily. The competition is much better in the Western Conference. It's not that Lebron paired with whomever he's paired with in the Western Conference wouldn't be great. It's that he'd have to go through tough team after tough team in the playoffs. Underdogs can win in the Western Conference and the chances of them being as good as a team like the Spurs this year would be hard to fathom.

So what roster is he on? There are a ton of teams in the West he instantly turns into Finals contenders. Unless you stipulate that he must play for Sacramento. Then yes, he'd have a tough time.

Just dropping Miami in the West and posing the question that way is a dumb hypothetical. Who goes to the East?? Let me guess, the worst West team, right?

Let's make this simple for the small-minded.

If Lebron was drafted to the Nuggets, how many rings would he win in the west for his entire career having the same teammates that Melo had (and going against Kobe in the playoffs)?
