Isnt it ironic that the 4 times LeBron has won MVP (2009,2010,2012,2013) he led the league in PER (Player Efficiency Rating) which tells you total impact of players

This year Durant won MVP and he led the league in PER as well

Now again thats not everything your team needs to be successful (LeBron led the league in PER in 2008 but his team only won 45 games)

In 2011 Derrick Rose won it but that was due mostly to voter fatigue and the success of the bulls. Derrick Rose was surely not the most popular player in 2011 but he won it.

Steve Nash wasnt the most popular player in 2005-2006, but he was a key driver to team success

Therefore how do you explain the correlation between MVP and the player who is both on a good team, and has the most overall impact according to PER or is most crucial to team success?

What is PER and who made it up?

Why specifically do you feel PER leads tells us that? Hint: It doesn't.

Yes, he was. The media hacks loved having an opportunity to get by with a white MVP.

:lebronamazed:

Who should've won in 05 in your opinion (06 I assume is Kobe, which I can get on board with...I'm a little biased, but I don't think I could ever give MVP to a PG)?

Shaq, of course.

Although, Dirk was quite impressive.

just because it's a popularity contest, it doesn't mean the members of the media doesn't actually put some thought into it so they don't look retarded in the history book.

How can you say it's all a popularity contest when Kobe only won ONE time despite being the most popular player in the league for a good 6-7 years?

It would be easier to figure out if there was an actual set criteria for voting MVP.

Hated by who? Trolls on ISH? He has been beloved by basketball fans across the world for 'virtually' his whole career.

He redeemed himself after the alleged rape, sure. However, that situation wrecked Kobe's image in the media's eyes.

Which years exactly did Kobe get snubbed of an MVP? Heck the year he won it it's highly debatable whether he actually deserved it..
