Kobes skill level on offense and defense is ahead of Magic. Magic had the intangibles though. You can make solid case for both as the greatest Laker ever if you look at their careers being subjective they are just about tied. I think Kobe will be known as greatest Laker after he retires by the majority of the world. There's some that never saw Magic play which hurts along with many all-time greats the public never saw play it hurts their ranking.

Stats, accolades, longevity, his achievements are comparable to Magic's.

Anyone can reasonably argue one over the other, depending on what they value more. I'm ok with either of them.

There's no objective list. If you want think that Kobe has more accomplishments and done more as a basketball player than move him up on your list. That's your personal thing.

If you want to argue that Kobe have the accomplishments and level of play on the same tier as Magic, then we can have a discussion. But it's down to subjective opinions at the end of the day.
