View Full Version : Miluwakee should play Giannis at the point.

They aren't contending this year or anything anyways so why not? He's athletic, a good passer, and a good wing defender.

If it doesn't work out then damn, looks like Miluwakee gets another top 3 pick.

But if it works out.... a 7'0 all star PG

Good night rest of the league.

Can he guard the point guard position? That's the fastest position in the league.

I just can't see a 7'0" player being able to dribble low enough to maintain control of the ball against players a foot shorter and obviously faster.

Yeah he can dribble against forwards, but forwards don't defend on the ball like guards do.

He'd probably be a better PG than Knight actually.

Why doesnt he just play point forward like Bran?

You pretty much nailed it in the OP..if it doesn't work, which we're anticipating it won't considering he's only 19, we'll still get a great pick while developing the shit out of him. I like the Marshall signing a lot, now we have a legitimate playmaker to lean on when Giannis is struggling.

And it doesn't matter defensively. We have a 22 year old undersized SG in our PG rotation. Stick Knight on the opposing PG defensively and let Giannis guard the 2 or 3 while he plays point-forward.

He'd probably be a better PG than Knight actually.
No doubt. Knight has no discernible skill as a traditional point guard, he's a scoring spark off the bench type player, nothing more. Giannis has legitimate vision, it's just a matter of letting him refine his game to actually harness it.

Sometimes I wonder how much hype this kid would have if he played for the Lakers or something.

I was half joking when I made this thread, but half serious.

Worst case scenario on defense he guards SG's and whoever Milwaukee starts at the 2 guards the opposing PG.

Imagine the potential though. Imagine a lob to a big in a scoring position. It'd be so damn easy for Giannis to do with his height and wingspan.

He couldn't even consistently get the ball past half court.

Looked like he traveled on that gather. Which is weird for his stride length.

See that 2nd clip is a pretty good one for the people who have concerns about his handle not being low enough. When he split that pick and roll he was only barely hunched over and his hand was about as low as it can be while still dribbling the ball.

Since his growth his wingspan is probably like 7'4 or 7'5 so he should be able to keep the ball low enough to create offense from the perimeter with ball handling skills if he keeps developing them.

Dude has insane potential. As much as Wiggins or Parker.
