Emmanuel Mudiay, some think hes the best pg in his class. Was supposed to attend SMU but decided to skip college. I think hes more talented than Brandon Jennings. Hes 6'5 and sort of in the John Wall/D rose mold. Was tired of seeing his mom struggle so he decided to go pro.

In a statement toSports Illustrated, Mudiay said, "I was excited about going to SMU and playing college basketball for coach Brown and his staff and preparing for the NBA ...But I was tired of seeing my mom struggle. And after sitting down with coach Brown and my family, we decided that the best way for me to provide for my mom was to forgo college and pursue professional basketball opportunities."

Why in the hell did he pick that school if he had offers to Kansas and Kentucky. Irrelevant now since you say he is going overseas, but bizarre choice to begin with. The dude doesn't seem like a rational decision maker from the get go. :oldlol:

Btw, dude is planning on playing in China. Should dominate easily and get drafted high the year after

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, he might not do that well overseas. Those Chinamen are some damn fine ballhandlers.

I don't think the experience playing overseas will translate well in the first few years they play in the NBA.

but once they get familiar with the players/roster in the NBA as well as playing style, some of that professionalism may benefit.

Well, it's obviously a money thing, since he's going to China.

While having all the upside in the world, he couldn't sniff at the rotation of any serious Euroleague team right from high school.

But he could be interesting for a second tier team somewhere in France or in Germany, but then again, I guess he's aspiring to something like 500K $ per year, which he won't get, as an unproven guy.

Hadn't it been for the whole providing-for-mom thing, I think it would been nice to see him in the NCAA.

He's probably only going overseas cause he has bad grades and won't be eligible, just like Jennings.

Money shouldn't be the issue in college. College hoppers get paid
