Knew it was the brother. No one has the time to type out that entire name if it's Giannis.

He didn't know the Knicks were going to draft him when he entered the draft. If he goes to a different team, maybe he's playing in the NBA next season.

How do you not understand this?

Because if he plays in Euroleague (doubtful) it's a higher level than the NBA.

I could see him as a third option sf at Olympiacos for some hustle plays.
He wouldn't get minutes in euroleague but he'd get some time in greek league games and at least he'd revisit the basics of the game, something he probably hasn't done at all while in the US.

He could have easily average over 4ppg which no Greek has ever done it in the NBA until his Nigerian origin bro came along. Sonny Weems has some competition now.:oldlol:

Panathinaikos does not even have a SF other than Giankovits. So that's possibly a chance for him there. They were supposedly talking with Tremmell Harden, so that's a somewhat similar kind of player.

So maybe that's a possibility for him. However, his dad and the whole family have been going to Olympiacos football games for many years and they are all Olympiacos fans, and in the last couple of years Giannis and Thanasis regularly trained with Olympiacos players....so I'm not sure about that.

Obviously someone from their background would never ever be accepted growing up as a Panathinaikos fan and most of the fan base in Panathinaikos is right wing, so yeah, I'm not sure if that's a team he would suddenly want to play for.

You know the family was hating PAO all those years...but anyway, it would make sense because all they have at small forward is Giankovits.

I'm not sure if they would really consider attempting a Euroleague season with just Giankovits and Thanasis though. They are both very talented, but at this stage of their careers, that could be an epic disaster at that level.

Olympiacos wanted Bramos, but they said he "asked for too much money"...Thanasis would basically do the same things Bramos does, but with a worse shot and more energy. Basically same role. So, I guess that's a possibility, but seriously, how freaking much could Bramos have possibly asked for? Seriously could not have been much?

Somehow I see it more like in a Eurocup level team in Greece, Italy, or Spain. That's probably more what the Knicks would push for. Otherwise what would be the point for one year?

He's only really going to be a 10th men probably at best if he goes to Olympiacos or Panathinaikos. In contrast say if he went to like PAOK, he could feature more. Take a role similar to what Mark Payne had last year. He could play in 2nd European league, Eurocup, with club like PAOK and be something like the 5th to 7th most important player in the team, depending on who they finally ended up with in the roster.

That, or the similar type of thing in a similar such mid level club in Italy or Spain. Something like that seems more reasonable. Because they are saying it's just for one year, so for just one year, they are going to want him to get some playing time and have some importance in the team.
