Wade by a hair. Same tier though. Should include peak Kobe in this convo as well.

Big fan here. T-Mac was Michael Jordan-esque in his prime

Mentality is what puts Wade slightly over T-Mac.

I actually think Wade's best season was 06-07 before he got injured. He was even better than the 08-09 season, which itself is an all time great season.

Yeah, he was amazing that year. Definitely the best player in the league up until the injury - then that injury and complications basically took 18 months out of his career, which would probably be looked at a good deal differently without it.

He also took a massive dump on Kobe's face in xmas day game that season:

Didn't need Shaq at all to whoop Kobe's ass.

He did plenty. Tmac during his peak lost to teams better than the one he was on, he had a few occasions of being up 3-1 and not being able to close the deal but through the collective failure of his team, not his own incompetence. He had a weak roster in Orlando, and by the time he got to Houston he was becoming injury-prone and Yao was injury-prone himself. That Rockets team with a healthy Tmac/Yao, and decent players around them may have eventually made some noise in the Western Conference, just wasn't meant to be.

Generally speaking, Tmac's best year was 2003 and he was crazy good that year. What's even scarier is that he was only 24 at that point, so he hadn't even reached his peak yet and we never got to see what kind of player he 'really' could have become as injuries derailed his career. A healthy 28 year old Tmac would have been scary as hell, to me he was more naturally talented and gifted than Kobe( didn't possess the work ethic) with the tools to be a top 15 GOAT in terms of ability.
