LeBron isn't technically a failure, but considering the hype before he got before he even played a game, many people have expected more from him, considering that he was touted as the next Jordan throughout the entire 2002-2003 season pretty much.

real talk....

We watched the 2011 Heat play just like the 2007 - 2010 Cavs...LBJ ability to attack in transition and on the drive opens the floor for everyone else....but in a slow pace game his lack of midrange/post up hurt his team.

2012 We watched Lebron James work extremely hard on his mid range game and become a much better jump shooter...forcing the defense to keep honest....and allowing LBJ to be a much better closer( for himself getting a shot or creating for others)

2013 We watched lebron work on his post game and become a much better player in the post...combined with Lebrons better midrange....he was much better in a slower pace scenario ( vs Pacers and Spurs)

2014 The Heat players looked tired....If he stayed in Cleveland and younger players combined with his better offensive weapons....he could have had a true Hometown legacy ...it would have been special.

This ... He stopped coasting on his natural abilities, and actually improved his skill set.
