I think they would in 6 or 7. Wade was incredible at the time, they also had a much better front court in Alonzo, Shaq, and a younger Haslem.

These Spurs are really good, and the 2006 suffered from a similar problem as the current Heat. Too Top heavy, lots of vets who are probably washed up at this stage of their career. Without Wade and Shaq putting in work, that team was nothing.

But you know what they say..."Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion." Wade was a beast.

Hell, yeah:

1) Shaq still had a few left in the tank and would have caused problems for the Spurs

2) Wade reached Jordan level that Finals and was unstoppable

3) Most importantly, the refs had Wade's back

2006 Heat would beat any team with the cooking they were getting.

Without it? Can't see it going 6 games. Spurs probably sweep.

2006 Heat get stomped in 4. Not kidding. Coming from a Heat fan too.

The 2005 team probably takes them to 6 or 7. Depends on how well Spurs are moving that ball.

If Kawhi can give LeBron problems, then he would lock up 6'4 Wade

This Spurs team is good at avoiding put the opposing team on the line. That would really hurt the Heat. I think Heat would need more from Shaq in this series than they did versus the Mavs.

2006 Wade was a man on a mission.

I always thought the '06 Heat were one of the weaker championship teams in recent memory. It was just Wade, past prime Shaq & a bunch of washed up players.

Jason Williams, (37 year old) Gary Payton, Antoine Walker. They won a championship with these 3 players playing good minutes.:oldlol:

Get the idea why he is still flopping. The D-whistle effect in 06 :lol

No. Miami almost went down 3-0 and won because of the refs. I remember the Mavs getting called for ticky tacky fouls on Wade.

Shaq ran out of gas in the Finals in 2006. The Heat wouldn't be able to get away with Shaq putting up 13/10, and Antoine Walker being the second leading scorer. Wade would've needed to average 40 for it to be a series.

don't know if they would have won but they had more beef in the frontcourt something this Miami team severely lacks.

You're not a Heat fan, you're a Lebron fanboi.

The 2006 Heat would probably beat the 2013-2014 Spurs team, especially if wade receives similar treatment from the officials.

2005-2006 Dirk is far better than anyone the Heat faced on this year's Spurs and 2005-2006 Duncan is far better than current Duncan.
