You have to get to the finals to lose them. Every year you don't win the chip, losing the finals is the most winning possible.

Finals loss= best possible non chip season.

Same here. You don't get to be on the elite list if you have lost more than you have won.

Also, since people like to talk about stats and 50%, my list of players have to win over 50% of their finals appearances.

not when there's an imbalance in the strength of conferences like there is now

Heat would not have made it out of the west this year, not even to the WCF

So by your logic you're better of losing in the first round or missing the playoffs altogether than winning your conference and making the Finals. Got it

Exactly. It is like arguing a racer who placed 6th did better than the guy who was 2nd. Utter absurdity.

This largely is agenda driven because LeBron managed to take inferior teams to the Finals in 2007 and 2014 and they got exposed at that point. Other legends were routinely losing in the first round, something LeBron has never done.

Jerry West probably has had the most heartbreaks in finals history:

1 and 8......rough

1962 NBA Finals - Lost to the Boston Celtics
1963 NBA Finals - Lost to the Boston Celtics
1965 NBA Finals - Lost to the Boston Celtics
1966 NBA Finals - Lost to the Boston Celtics
1968 NBA Finals - Lost to the Boston Celtics
1969 NBA Finals - Lost to the Boston Celtics
1970 NBA Finals - Lost to the New York Knickerbockers
1972 NBA Finals - Defeated the New York Knickerbockers
1973 NBA Finals - Lost to the New York Knickerbockers

The Heat would lose to every single Western Conference team except the Blazers, Rockets, and Warriors.

Getting to the finals in the East is not some sort of an accomplishment when you have by far the most talent on one team than any other team in the Least combined.

They're getting blown out in every loss and all of a sudden theres a silver lining because you made the finals, really? I mean, really?

This is the most embarrassing finals since 2007. Massive failure for the Heat and especially LeBron. He will never be top 10.

losing = choking in their brains...if Lebron loses this, he also beats Kobe in more "chokes" in the finals, not something you would wanna beat him in tho

Kobe: 2004 & 2008
Lebron: 2007 & 2011, 2014? :confusedshrug:

Kobe was below average that year as well in the Finals.

Not a choke, but Bron took 5 shots in the 1st half of Game 4. By the time he dropped 20 in the 3rd or something, game was out of reach.

The mavs outplayed them in 2011 too.. Doesn't mean a giant choke didn't occur. Choking actually makes it easier for the other team to out play you..

I'd disagree with you on that. I'm not gonna try to take anything away from the Mavs, they obviously played well enough to win, but the Heat were clearly the superior team in that series. They should have easily swept the first 4 games, and if LeBron scores more than 8 points in Game 4 they easily win the series. That to me was an example of a team losing a series more so than a team winning it
