After watching these videos all over again besides watching them live, I come to appreciate KB even more.
The league definitely misses his game.

I'm not taking anything away from the Lakers/Kobe. That Lakers team from 2008-2010 was fun and I think Kobe > LeBron. But this Spurs team right now is absolutely better than the Spurs in 2008.

So I guess if Kobe wasn't hurt last year, the Lakers would've gone from getting swept and blown out in every game to winning the series?
This is the type of shit that makes me wish Kobe wasn't hurt last year so he could've actually been on the court while his team was getting swept in the 1st round, just so Kobe fanboys couldn't start threads like these later.

Kobe himself is too afraid of that happening. He basically admitted this season that if the Lakers were any good he would play. ie. his injury is bullshit.
and people should realize the the 2014 Spurs w/ Marco and Patty >>> 2013 Spurs w/ Blair and Neal

Kobe's old as shit now, lol. Even Spurs fans would admit that Kobe was a Spurs killer back in the day though.

Yeah, because that regular season game in November meant so much. Definitely would've translated to four playoff wins over that same team five months later.

Right, lead the Lakers to MAYBE one win over the Spurs instead of the zero they got without him. And even that's stretching it since every Spurs win came by at least 11 points.

I'm saying it would not be a sweep.
Game 1 could have been a win.
The Lakers gave up after game 2.

Kobe beat a defensive oriented Spurs team. He would not stand a chance against ball movement, offense based Spurs team which is very similar to 2011 Dallas team.

You mean 2004 beanpole Kobe who came into training camp out of shape, and the skinniest he's been since his rookie year because of the rape case hanging over his case?
Yeaaaaah...
And also  at you pretending like Prince stopped Kobe by himself, when it was the collective effort of one of the GOAT defensive teams of all time with a frontcourt anchor of the Wallace Bros.

Kobe wouldn't have any issue with Kawai because he is too reactionary for Kobe. Kobe would also put him in the high post and score pretty easily. It wasn't Tayshaun that was the issue, disregarding Kobe improved since then, it was the team defense behind him.

How is any iteration of the 2000's Spurs not better than these Spurs?
When your transcendent/GOAT-candidate player (Duncan) is in his prime?
Or the Big 3 as a whole was in their prime?

Remember when the 01 Spurs, one of the best defensive teams I've ever seen just got absolutely dismantled by the Lakers. Jerry Buss, Magic and Mitch were almost in tears that series.
But this is different, you get the feeling Heat could score 110 and the Spurs would just score 120. Boris Diaw is the key, they can't guard him. They're so accustomed to being crazy agressive on the pick and roll, because the roller is usually some scrub with no brain. Now they have Diaw to deal with and he's just putting them in circles.
