OKC up 27 points, Scott Brooks rides his key players and starters all the way through the 4th while Pop plays his 2nd unit and gets them into a rythym

The next game, Spurs up 27 points, the 2nd unit has already been in the game for a while, OKC's second unit looks lost out there, scores 4 points in 3 minutes

There's zero chance Brooks returns next year (unless you guys win a title somehow), right?

HCA.

Should have played in the Regular Season.

The difference is Brooks doesn't care about or believe in his second unit because "he has the two best players on the court".

So basically the difference is one person understands the game better.

HCA.

Should have played in the Regular Season.

That falls on Brooks as well. Whenever PJ3 and Lamb were in the rotation with Adams getting more minutes OKC went like 24-2 if Russ was active.

Once he cut Adams' minutes and cut Lamb and PJ3 from the rotation towards the end of the year OKC lost the first seed and came close to even losing the 2nd seed.

its ridiculous really, its all on brooks, i mean jlamb was supposed to be a great player b4 the rox traded him away lol. should have gave them more burn.
to be fair though, the spurs have arguable the best second unit in the league

Just one of many, many differences. A sea of differences so vast that Brooks couldn't cross it in an ocean liner.

Luckily he will still be coaching in OKC

One wears a helmet, and one doesn't. That's the biggest difference, imo.

No, its because their second unit sucks balls

Exactly, this Spurs team might have the GOAT bench

if pop had brook's second unit he'd have them playing like all-stars.

pop goes out of his way to understand all of his player's strengths and weaknesses, he simplifies the game for them so that they understand their spots and their role and chews them out if they try to do too much.

brooks on the other hand....

"we have enough fight! we have enough energy! we have enough togetherness!"

And the scary part is that aside from Diaw and Manu, the bench hasn't even been playing up to their regular season level. Bellinelli has been awful, Mills really streaky, Bonner can't hit a 3. I don't even know if we've seen their best game yet.
