Lance! Heck, in this current Pacer playoff run you could make a legit case he hasn't been as important as West.

Not as important but he's a better payer than West at this stage

But he is a wing player so I thought that automatically means he is a superstar?

who said paul george was a superstar?

he is an allstar......very big difference.

only two true superstars in the league if u ask me and thats durant and lebron.

another thing..people on here have to stop criticizing players that are still developing....people act as if paul george is in his 10th season...like damn give the man some time to reach his prime...scottie pippen wasnt that great out the gate...and i can name countless other players that had to develop to become stars in the nba on an elite level

I wouldn't go that far. Lance killed the Pacers tonight. Instead of continuing to go the bigs, which got them the 15 pt lead, he played playground basketball.

on average there is probably 2-3 stars in the league per year. Don't know why it would surprise you that George isn't a Superstar.

guys like T-mac, VC, PP were not superstar players in the league and I don't really think PG is on those guys level as a player as of yet.

03 T-Mac was a superstar, at worst. What is your definition? :biggums:

Dude was a first team type of player. If that's not a superstar, what is?

T-Mac was close but i think he fell short a bit. Being a superstar is about having a consistent level for multiple years. The other guys i've mention have had spurts of superstardom as well but weren't able to maintain. Think T-mac is closer to that range than the Kobe, Shaq, TDs of his era

I can't call PG a superstar QUITE YET! In a sense, he's kind of like Pippen before Pippen reached that status. But the main difference between Pippen and George is the fact that Pippen was an AWESOME POINT FORWARD!! Neither I give alpha dog status (George might get that status while Pip never really evolved in to a true alpha dog scorer), but Pip was epic at dropping dimes and making his guys better. Plus Pip is arguably the best perimeter defender ever. So until George EITHER becomes a true alpha dog scorer OR step up his all around game to Pip's level, I can't call him a superstar, YET! But I feel he WILL be a superstar, he's just in that beginning stages of the process.

Gotta disagree with that! T-Mac, Vince, and Pierce were SUPERSTARS! No doubt about it! T-Mac in particular was a superstar and was one of the top five players in the world at one point. It's wasn't a secret that the top five in the early to mid 2000s were Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, KG, and T-Mac. As a matter of fact, they asked Kobe on Fox Sports who his starting lineup in the L would be. And he put T-Mac at PG, himself at SG, KG at SF, Timmy at PF, and Shaq at C. When asked why T-Mac at PG, Kobe said T-Mac had all the skills to be a dominant big PG and he wants the best starting five he can possibly get. Kobe said he could have ran the PG, but T-Mac was more unselfish and willing to pass first.

I don't know, mid 2000 T-mac wasn't as good as he was in Orlando days and missed a lot of time with injuries. Ai, Dirk, Kidd, and Nash were definitely superior players relative to which specific seasons we are talking about.

U are right over time the injuries got a hold of T-Mac. But T-Mac at his best I would consider a superstar. The guys u named are first ballot HOFers without a doubt. I won't debate that, but T-Mac at his best was on that level CLEARLY in my book. Mac at his best was like a mix of Penny Hardaway and George Gervin!

I think he has the desire to be an elite defender more than being a scorer. It just happens that there are many great wing scorers in the league already.

He should probably even go for .380 if not .400 on 3s next season.

Which reminds me if Harden is turning into a Michael Redd with the Rockets because his driving ability isn't utilized as much as his OKC days.

Paul George can be a better version of Metta WorldPeace, which also means a viable 2a/2b option on a contending team. Since I'm tired of the third option on a contending team phrase.

He isn't a superstar, but he had a great game tonight. When you average 21.7 on 42%, you aren't a superstar. There's still plenty of time for him to develop though. :applause:
