Glad to see him come to the league next season, really interested to see if he's another bust or a future 25+ ppg scorer.

Lakers screwed up.
They drastically reduced their chances of having one of the top 4 consensus picks in their team.
It's all up to luck now. 21% for top 3

Now all we need is one team to make a dumb decision and pass on one of the big 5. If a team jumps us 7th or worse though, we're still ****ed.

6th pick is not bad at all, I think we'll get Exum.

Man, I'm not really in to conspiracies and stuff. Although NOLA's case was a bit different though.
Let's just hope that Nick Young getting hot didn't set the Lakers franchise back 4-5 years.
Building a foundation, which they currently don't have at the moment, would be faster if they draft a star in this draft

If both Exum and Parker are on the board, who do you take?

Ways for them to get any of the top 4:
1) They get lucky and get in to top 3 (which is the more likely scenario than the last two, but the % are not on their side)
2) Teams don't draft Exum because they don't need guards (Wiggins/Embiid/Parker won't slide down)
3) Silver compensates the Lakers for setting the franchise back after the failed CP3 trade and rigs the lottery for us

Parker because he is the safest pick. But Exum's two-way potential is certainly intriguing

Not sure tbh. Parker is more NBA ready and will probably always be the better pure scorer, but I feel like Exum wants to come to LA more. Tough call.

This is great news for the Lakers. Even if we stay at 6th, we can still choose Exum. (Let's say the top 5 is Wiggins, Jabari, Embiid, Randle and Smart.)
Of course that a top 3 pick would be much better but now Lakers won't get a good player only if we fall back.

Unless you are assuming Smart will go 5th because Exum threatens to return to Australia, you're high if you think a team is drafting Smart before Exum.
Smart is Lance Stephenson with 2/3s the talent. I rather take my chances on Gordon being Blake-lite than Smart being Wade-lite.

two-way potential is just another word to say jabari stinks defensively
yeah it helps all of the lottery teams
This. F*cking Laker fans thinking everything is about them.

Bad choices happens all the time on NBA drafts. I think that team could pass on Exum because he's not american and didn't play in college and they saw Smart closely in the last 2 years.
Or maybe the 5th pick doesn't want a guard and take Gordon or Vonleh.

So I'm not supposed to react to the news? We won the last two games of the year and if Jabari didn't declare, we were pretty much ****ed. Not looking forward to overpaying for free agents, or going through 3-4 more middling seasons. Now we have an outside shot at picking up a franchise player.

Jabari declaring helps more than just the Lakers. It helps all teams that won't have one of the first two picks. Your reaction isn't thread worthy.

I didn't catch those threads as I'm not a mod nor do I constantly patrol this subforum. If this was a thread in the Lakers subforum or instead of creating this thread, you made a comment in one of the other general Jabari threads, I really wouldn't care less.

Just stop caring and let it go.
It's not worth getting worked up for
But yeah, it helps all teams, especially 4-5.

Wow, what's it like to be so smart? You know that the lottery is rigged? Wow man, what was it like growing up and being privy to all the inside info? Let's see, these evil people are really smart so they perpetrate a conspiracy to make things happen the way they want to. The general public is unaware but yet somehow you've managed to figure it out. Man, good for you. And how exactly has this info enriched your life? You for some reason waste your time watching this rigged sport. What other conspiracies do you know of and how has that knowledge benefitted you? You lucky guy.
Doesn't Parker declaring help all teams?
No because every team will not have a top 5-6 pick.
He is stating it helps the lakers because there is about 5 prized picks in this year's draft and the lakers are more than likely to get a pick anywhere from 4-7 (I think they will get fifth). His fear was that the lakers will miss one of the prized pick by just one player.
With parker declaring the lakers may just make the cut off of picking up on of the prizes
theres only 2 franchise players worthy in this draft and jabari aint one of em

I think GMs would pass on tall- injury prone guys like Embiid than Foreign players. The success of Dirk, Gasol, Parker, Ginnobli etc plus a very long list of big players who never made it bec of injuries. Heck you can count Brook Lopez too. So, im afraid Exum will be taken sooner than you think and the Lakers would be faced to pick Embid or somebody else. I love Gordon's athlstism but he has a lot of question marks with his inside moves.

So Parker declaring helped the Lakers get Aaron Gordon instead of Marcus Smart? Big difference. This helped all teams, the Magic, Celtics and Jazz especially, not the Lakers.
And how the **** is Exum gonna fall to #6? Nobody in their right minds is picking Smart or Gordon over him. Lakers fans :facepalm

no,
there's 5 teams ahead of LAL,
without parker, even smart will be out of range
embiid and wiggin surely will be picked first,
parker most likely will be picked by jazz,
that leave 2 others team ahead, hopefully will pick randle, and smart
Exum:banana:
but if the lakers get #1
hopefully they would still take wiggin:pimp:
