And it's good to see him coming into his own
had a 33, 10 and 7 game the other day and 22 points and 15 assists last night and he has generally played alot better in the past month or so.
Maybe something for the Pelicans to build on.

They could have been playoff bound rn (or at least fighting for the 8th) if dumbass Monty realized that he's better off suited as a starter.
But he's been great. Good to see. We'll see if he keeps it up next season with Jrue back doe.

Yeah, he's been looking good since being inserted into the starting lineup 10 games ago or whenever it was.
Still turning the ball over too much, but he's scoring efficiently and playing really good all-around basketball.
Consistency remains the question for Tyreke. He started the season looking really good for the first couple months. Then, he looked awful for two months.
Now, he looks good again. He needs to sustain this for the rest of the season and carry it into next year. Maybe he should be the fulltime starter?

I think they would of been right up there to get in the playoffs if they were healthy. Losing Anderson hurt big time.

They need to get rid of Gordon. Should've just let the Suns sign him.
Tyreke can't play off the bench, and I'm not sure how good his game pairs up with Jrue.

I'm sure they will get a decent piece for Gordon if he plays enough games as he has looked pretty decent.

Not with that contract. I say this as a person who thought he had the potential be a really special player a couple of years ago, but I'm pretty confident that he'll never play like a $15 million a year player, even if he does somehow manage to stay injury-free for a period of time.
That contract is an albatross. Not only don't I think they could get anything decent for it, they might have to give up something decent for a team to consider taking it off their books.
It's not that Gordon can't play... but that contract. Yikes.

This should be the Pelicans' starting 5 next season
Jrue
Tyreke
Aminu
Anderson
Davis
Gordon has been relatively healthy this season, but he still needs to be traded. Funny how he has played the 3rd most games on his team this season, his healthiest since his rookie season. His 3PT shot is better, but his defense & his overall efficiency is garbage, I can't believe he got that kind of money when he's basically as good as Nick Young.

It's a terrible contract agreed and very costly for a 6th man which is what he should be if Evans can play like this next year.

Better thank you think. Their games are literally ying and yang. Holiday is a reliable on ball and off ball shooter who doesn't attack the basket too often while Evans is a weak on ball and off ball shooter who is relentless attacking the basket and drawing fouls. While both are considered ball dominant, Holiday doesn't need the in his hand all the time to be effective. Due to Holiday's ability to spot up at an above average rate, Evans can dominate the ball enough to be comfortable.
As for Gordon, the guy can never buy a call when he attacks the basket nor is he finishing well at the basket. This renders him pretty much useless outside of spotting up. For whatever reason, the refs aren't giving him calls at all. It's pretty bizarre as he takes a lot of contact in the paint.
I think the Pelicans need to find a competent SF and a reliable center in order for them to take the next step. Unfortunately, all of their cap is tied up to Gordon. So unless they manage to get rid of him, they're going to be limited in what they can do in the offseason especially without draft picks.

I do believe though Pelicans will have about 5-6 million to spend in cap room this summer..not alot but something.

Looks decent until you realize that they have key role players who will become free agents this summer. Morrow(likely to opt out), Jason Smith, Aminu, Roberts, etc. They're pretty strapped if they want to retain those guys.

True, suppose it depends on who they want to keep.

The thing is Gordon doesn't even want to play for NOLA so he's basically there collecting checks, they are idiots for not letting him go to the Suns.
