View Full Version : Theory on why Lebron will never be clutch

He can be, 1 / 100... but consistently, he won't.

What does MJ, Durant and Kobe have in common and why are they clutch? Those 3 guys were raised by both their mother and father growing up. They didn't experience losing someone when they were young. They didn't develop fear of losing something. Contradict to what happened to Lebron, he was abandoned by his father growing up. He has developed fear of losing something when he was young up to the point he got into NBA.

Fear of losing something will make you unclutch and could affect your performance in pressure situations. Fear of losing something ie. championship trophy will make you under perform (ie. Lebron 2011 and almost in 2013). It's his fear of losing something which he developed since his father left him when he was young that made him unclutch and the Lebron we all know today. Imagine Lebron, being guided by his dad and mom growing up, and has no fear of losing something. He can be one of the clutchest players in game's history.

Although due to being unclutched all these years, he has developed his survival instinct. Fear of criticisms from fans can attribute to his new-found instinct. He can develop his survival instinct, but he will never ever develop Killer Instinct and being clutch. It can't be trained just like how you can't train your chin in boxing.

That's all.

or maybe he sucks at shooting jumpers and it's harder to get a layup in the last 5 seconds of a game.

no pun intended

I have read a theory its because he has the psychology of a big man. They are taught to hold back and be meek because they can hurt people due to their size and strength.

Why is a "Kings" fan so affected when Lebron is being talked about? Never seen him talk about Kings.

You obviously don't know how scientific evidence works. First you have to design a trial, then you have to gain a large enough sample size e.g. 500 NBA player 'stars' and then look at the average and confidence intervals regarding their scoring in the finals throughout their entire career. You just keep enjoying making yourself look stupid don't you?

OP is a time traveler, he came from 2011 to tell us how unclutch Lebrick was in 6 games. Since you made it all this way, how clutch were Kobe and Durant in said finals?

See, if you wanted to make up a psychological reason I thought it would go the other way. The harder your life, the more clutch you'll be (or at least, not choke) because basketball ain't nothing compared to the streets or being the man of the house at 12, or whatever. Like guys who come from war torn countries in Africa or East Europe. Some dude trying to trash talk them ain't gonna mean shit.

The coddled guys who came up comfortable should be the chokers. Easy life, higher expectations to meet from parents/society, etc.

I have a theory:

He lost his swag when his hairline started receding and he will never get it back until he goes full bald.

Wait, so Lebron is actually clutcher than the current players OP mentioned in his post?

I guess his long post was not needed because his original assumption wasn't true. Case closed I guess.
