:biggums: How the **** are Federer, Nadal, and Ronaldo overrated? Fed and Nadal are literally the 2 best tennis players ever, and Ronaldo is one of the greatest footballers ever.

I don't know why the hell Tebow is up there, and KD has a lot of work to do before being "iconic", but you're missing a few chromosomes if you think Nadal, Federer, and Ronaldo are overrated.

:oldlol: Are you really this pathetic that you have to get on your alt to respond to me? At least be subtle about it, try not to respond in pretty much the exact same way "ICONIC" responded to another poster who disagreed with Tebow being there.

And yes, resort to personal attacks because you have no legitimate argument.

If he's iconic, he's the most worthless and thoroughly forgettable icon in the history of professional sports. Explain to me why you think Tebow, in 20 years, won't be totally irrelevant. Please enlighten me.

That's the poster I responded to and he was trying to be sarcastic.

Tebow is an icon for Christians. He transcended sports. That's an icon, no matter which way you slice it.

No, he really won't. You don't have to be remembered per se to be considered an 'icon' anyways....

He is a pop culture icon. He flat out sucks at his sport and still to this day is one of the most popular athletes in the world. If he's not an icon who transcended sports then I don't know what is.

He could very well be considered a college football icon and will ALWAYS be remembered.

Of course you have to be remembered. That's a pretty huge part of being an icon..

And there's a huge difference between a pop culture icon and sports icon. He is absolutely in no way a sports icon. He sucks, and will never be remembered for what he did as a football player, on the field. And isn't that what this whole thread is about? Sports icons crying in defeat? Who gives a shit about some guy who sucks at his sport crying?

He was an outstanding college football player who won two national titles.

I'm not gonna argue with you any further. He's an icon who happens to be an athlete, hence the title ICONIC Athletes.

He will be remembered. You must not have a very strong grasp on sports culture, pop culture, or any other aspect of social culture to be spewing all of that nonsense, bro.

Whatever happened to real athletes, real men? You know guys who would only cry because they achieved something enormous like winning their first championship or because of something horrific happening in their lives like their father being murdered.

nothing wrong with men crying. but it has to be that subtle, soft tear. the single stream that rolls down your cheek while you keep a straight face.

the balling theatrics are probably going too far. you save that for behind closed doors maybe, but a man should never weep like that in public. in some cultures it's the complete opposite, as public weeping is a sign of respect and sympathy, but in our culture it's not and all men should adhere to it.

They don't. It's cowardly and mainly apart of the new generation. The NBA used to be composed of men. Now it's composed of boys.

Federer overrated? He's only the GOAT, and he cries when he loses and when he wins - and not just when he wins Wimbledon but at his home town tournament when he remembers he used to ball boy there. Just an emotional guy but the most talented player to ever set foot on a tennis court.
