Jordan post up fadeaway to his left is one of the most amazing ever.

Still watch his highlights, still try to redo them myself and I can say that I feel comfortable in one out of 20 tries.. His form is so graceful and effective.

Lightning quick release too. He is among the most underrated players of all time. Below is the last Sixers playoff victory in the Spectrum, with Hawkins hitting the game winner.

Outrageous! - Charles Barkley (1992)

With Michael guarding Hersey in the right corner, I knew he would cheat toward me when I started to drive. I figured that would give Hersey just enough of an opening to bury a shot, so I told him to spot up in 3-point territory. And I told him to watch for the ball. The play worked to perfection. I took three dribbles right and there was Michael, right on cue. I threw a bounce pass to Hersey and he didn't hesitate. He caught the ball and shot it all in one motion.

Kevin Durant / Calbert Cheaney? Sweet, sure... but sweetest? Not any much sweeter than Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo, Wade, Iverson, T-Mac etc. etc. etc. etc. i mean its ok, just doesnt stand out to me.

Anyways...

To bad a bunch of you here seemingly werent around to witness Steph's pops (Dell Curry) jumpshot.... its the sweetest, fastest textbook stroke i ever seen.... in the 90s the "sweetest jumpshot" debate was started always first with Dell Curry and he would usually win that debate... im sure most early 90s childs would remember here.

Glen Rice, Craig Hodges, Ray Allen, Michael Redd, Allan Houston, Drazen Petrovic ranks up there aswell.

Today its Ray Allen, he is still around afterall, Steph Curry follows i would say (he had a heck of a teacher around him 24-7-365).

There are all the obvious choices, most of which have been outlined here. I'm going to throw you a curveball.

On the great 1994 Arkansas National Championship team, they had the most audacious three-point marksman I had ever seen. His name was Alex Dillard. Not only was he a deadeye shooter, he'd jack them up from near midcourt sometimes... not because the shot clock was running down or a heave at the end of the half.

These shots came completely within the flow of the offense and were even designed. Teams were so afraid of his shooting that they'd stay up on him at the three-point line, so he'd just take five steps back and drop them.

Watching Dillard shoot the ball was a beautiful thing. I don't know if he ever even played an NBA game, but I'll never forget the way he shot the ball.

Here he is making 12 threes in one game, an NCAA record. Look at where he is shooting these things from...

Reggie Lewis's J was wet, but far from perfect. I loved it too, BTW.

J.R. Smith has a picture perfect jumper. Melo's form is also seemingly perfect, you think it's always going to go in.

Beautiful form doesn't always equal effective shooting.

I personally think Curry, who is the world best at this moment, doesn't have the most perfect form and he is arguably the best off-the-bounce shooter in history.

MJ and Kobe had the same, perfect form J.

Reggie Miller's looked a bit awkward, as did Peja's sometimes.

I agree that Wesley Person's J looked perfect.

Reggie had actually a perfect looking form & release, its only after the release he tends to connect his hands kindof, its just some habbit.

Its like:

2.
http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2013/05/05/sports/dog-yKNIXGRAF/dog-yKNIXGRAF-superJumbo-v2.jpg

3. and here you can see his arm start going to his left hand, but it has no effect on the shot, he doesnt shoot it like that, its just a habbit AFTER the above which is absolutely perfect in every way.

It was very aesthetically pleasing to me and it certainly is more textbook than Jordans.... Your head, shoulders & feet should perfectly be facing the rim and you should be jumping straight up & come down on the same spot with both feet simultaneously.... body should be perfectly straight from head to legs...

But Jordans right arm, shoulder & foot is to much infront & hence left shoulder/body to much backwards, leaning... kicking his right foot out on the release aswell, left foot coming down first.... Jordan is literally shooting it sideways.... Kobe has that same jumpshot aswell.... Wade aswell..... This is how you would shoot a fadeaway going left.... but they do it even with nobody around :P

You can watch, praise Jordans/Kobes shot.... but copying their shot is a HORRIBLE idea if you want to be a pure shooter / the most accurate shooter you could ever be... Imitate Ray Allen instead....

I don't post much, but as a huge basketball fan I feel like I have to correct this statement. If you are serious about becoming a better shooter, this guy disproves common shooting myths while also preaching good habits.
