And does it an an outstanding manner, like 35ppg in the finals, what would winning a ring for OKC mean in terms of value? For example the worth of Durants ring on comparison to others.

Well, he won it with the team that drafted him so that's pretty rare these days in the team up era

It's gonna be worth 1 ring.

you can avg 50 ppg in a finals series and it won't magically turn into 2 rings.

Most stacked team of all time

Ring value somewhere between Kobe's sidekick rings and Kobe's "Pau Gasol's" FMVP

I bet you were one of those **** that cheered for the Heat to lose back in 2011 because Wade would've been FMVP instead of Bron.

I guess Ray Allen's game winner in game 6 also de-values LeBron's ring as well by your stupid logic.

Choking his FT's and missing a bunch of clutch shots? Shooting 39% for the series and going 2-14 in Game 4..

Not really. With the exception of the two recent Heat victories, the last 7 Finals MVPs were drafted by the team they won with.

If KD wins a ring, I'd put it's value just barely above an Xmas MVP award.

Seriously though, you're not gonna get many legitimate responses in this thread. It's only the first page and it's already a Bran stan orgy.

Honestly.. Durant will never win a ring in OKC

I can see him winning in Chicago or Brooklyn or New York after he fails miserable in OKC

Same with Westbrook but he has even less of a chance since he has to play with crap lakers

First of all, Dirk is my favourite player, and yes, I think Dallas was robbed in that series, and probably win 8 times out of 10 if they replay it.

That said, I think Durant is on a better career trajectory than Dirk at the same stage. In terms of reasonable GOAT ranking opinions, Dirk will end up somewhere between top 15 and top 25 (with minority views putting him either closer to top 10 or closer to top 30)... Durant is on a path to end up in the 10 to 20, or even 5 to 15, range, in my opinion.

Ironically however, Durant's ring would be less impressive than if Dirk had gotten one in 2006 because he has a better team with him.

I wonder what effect it would have on LeBron's legacy. For Durant to have brought a title to a new franchise, one that drafted him, within 6 seasons...scary to think about. LeBron would be seen as one who couldn't do it on his own, Durant would have accomplished where LeBron failed.

With a name like "knicksman" maybe you should leave judging championships to others.

it's easily worth more value than most rings some others have won.

Reasons why:
he's the best player on a franchise that won its first championship. Much like MJ and 1991 Bulls.
He stayed with the team that drafted him and went through hardships instead of joining up with a stacked team.

Why? This is absolutely the right answer.

Both Dirk and KD's rings will be tremendous:
-won rings for the one franchise they've played with all their career
-no all star teammates
-tough conference

Everyone is injured in the West, so it counts as a negative ring. He'll actually tarnish his legacy by winning this year.

Sorry, but I can never respect a player who tried to get out of a commitment they made early. :confusedshrug:

2007? He pressured the front office instead of saying nothing and leaving. He pushed the front office, they got Pau Gasol. Few years later, 2 rings.

That's as loyal and alpha as you can get. Saying nothing and just quitting is way worst.

If he just wanted to "pressure" the front office he would have done it in private, not gone on Stephen A Smith's radio show and told the world he wanted out. That was a bitch move, but what can we expect from a guy who snitches on his own teammates to the police.

Done in private doesn't work, because there's no pressure. When he went public, he got the fans behind his back, and thus pressuring the front office even more. You've got a lot to learn, young fella.

If Durant wins a ring say this year, he's gonna shoot up the SF charts and be in the top 10 GOAT SF in the next two years. I know many are gonna be shocked by that. But u gotta realize he will have 20,000 points in two-three years. He already has damn near 14,000 points already. He's a lock for a minimum 2,000 points a season if he stays healthy. He will have at least one MVP it looks like too. U never know what the future holds, but it appears Bron and KD are gonna be the top two GOAT SF's when its all said and done! They are both prodigies who totally redefined their positions.

Almost right, you forgot that ones of Lebrons rings is from the shortened season (half ring) and you need to multiply that by 1/3rd due to bosh and wade.

So he has 1/3 times 1/2 plus 1/3 rings:rockon:
