An orphan in Milwaukee dies every time Dirk has a big game.

****ing shit****. We should've had him.

I know those are somewhat arbitrary thresholds, but still thought it deserved to be mentioned as fun trivia.

From 1985 to 2013 , only three players aged 35 or more had a game of at least 35 points and 15 rebounds: Dirk, Patrick Ewing, and Charles Barkley. Dirk had the best game score of the three. (Barkley's performance came in overtime.) He's also one of 30 player in NBA history since the 60s to have scored 40 or more after 35. His longevity is shaping up to be up there with the greats.

Would take Barkley over him, especially prime Barkley.

Assuming you have Timmy #1, you'd take Dirk over KG, Barkley & Malone?

Personally I'd rank them

Timmy
KG
Barkley
Dirk
Malone

but I'm biased on Malone as I've always hated him.

This happens when you are 7' without a low post game.

If he did , he would be long gone.

Been playing great ball overall on the year.

Mavs are just a flawed roster, even more than I originally thought...

If Dalembert was about as good as I thought he was...we'd have 5 more wins.

Really a shame we can't get good production out of him...****ing 12 minutes last night...what a clown.

You guys really need to pair up Dirk with an upgrade at C. Just imagine:

Dirk/Drummond
Dirk/Sanders
Dirk/Cousins
Dirk/Gasol
Dirk/Davis
Dirk/Howard

Oh I know...

Sanders might be a legit opportunity. Would the Bucks get rid of him for Marion and Larkin before his extension kicks in? Maybe Sanders and Neal for Marion, Larkin, and a 2nd round pick or something?

Maybe we take back Pachulia as well and give them Dalembert's expiring contract to sweeten the pot. Mavs have to take chances like that...and hoping for a star in free agency is pointless now anyway. We have a really solid team outside of center. I like Marion, but he's not vital and could easily be replaced this off season. Seems like a waste to hold onto his valuable trade asset in his expiring contract for 9.3 million.

Why didn't Dwight go to Dallas again? (not saying that he should have just curious..) Was it b/c Harden was much younger than Dirk?

Dirk was backing down Jeremy Lin in the last seconds and Parsons came to double and Dirk passed it out to Calderon who missed a three then got a second chance off an offensive rebound and missed again.

If that was LeBron who passed it out, people who be calling him mentally weak, scared to take the last shot, etc.

And those people would be wrong. A wide open three to win the game for Calderon is as good as you can get there.

He's one of the best shooters in the NBA.

So you enter a thread about Dirk dropping 38/17...to start talking about Lebron? Dude, this topic isn't about the 2nd best SF in the game.

Anyway...sad to see another year of Nowitzki wasted on a mediocre to slightly above average team.

I'm really hoping we can land Sanders before the deadline.. he is the most realistic target, and he would work nicely with Dirk... he could have a Tyson-esque impact.

lol I think I'm in the minority in holding that opinion. That being said, it has nothing to do with a legacy/accolades list, just who I think has more impact and who I'd take to start a team.

I'm also probably higher on Dirk than most though. I think he's a top 3 PF, and probably would be one of the first 15 players I'd take in an all-time draft (worst case, first 20). Isn't that enough my homie? :confusedshrug:
