Do you have a time machine? Otherwise, get over it. Discussing what the Knicks should do with Jeremy Lin makes no sense. You don't get a redo. Let's look at past drafts too.

Jeremy Lin playing some great ball as well
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4299/jeremy-lin
14 PPG on 50/38/80, and taking care of the ball well. Still shameful how happy Melo was to see him go, like he was glad he didn't have a dude stealing all of the spotlight anymore.

the dumbest move in recent sports history. the perfect player for the team and the town came to them out of nowhere. they didnt keep him, thinking we'll be alright.
now this is the nyk point guard rotation: BENO UDRIH
:banghead:
this is worse than sam bowie or tractor traylor.

Still don't understand how he isn't in the league anymore.
Even if he isn't athletic anymore, he still can handle the ball and has a wet jumper. Basketball IQ has to be better than a lot of the PG/SG scrubs too. Perhaps coaches and GM's really weigh the off thee court/locker room stuff more than I thought.

Yes, letting Lin go is worse than not getting Michael Jordan. Totally comparable. In no way are you an idiot for saying that.

the blazers needed a big man.
the blazers already had clyde drexler.
the blazers went to the finals.
in no way was picking sam bowie at the time as idiotic as letting lin walk for nothing...

Ummmmm Lin doesnt play in the playoffs. Lets not forget 2 years back he didn't wanna do the Knicks any favors by coming back at 80% (I have no problem with that, he was looking out for himself), and last year sat out because he was hurt again against OKC. I'd like to have Lin right now sure, but can we as Knicks get over him not being here. It's been like 15 months.

now what if he breaks down playing 35+ minutes the next weeks?

Beno Udrih is fine on offense, he is beyond pathetic on defense. Shump on Beal in the 1st half and he couldn't do much, Wall doing his thing. Shump on Wall in the 2nd half, and it's Beal lighting the Knicks up. I just wish the Knicks had a defensive PG, he doesn't even have to be breaking down defenses.
Is Gary Payton type PG too much to ask for this team???

knick point guards during the melo era not including jeremy lin:
-injured billups
-mike bibby's corpse
-the ghost of baron davis
-toney douglas :facepalm
-half retired jason kidd
-fat felton
-old rookie prigioni
-beno udrih
all of them could claim to be the worst starting point guard in the nba while playing for the knicks.

The cap is locked up in the front court not possible to have a quality PG.
I do think Lin was a great fit for the Knicks but that poison pill he got the second time around didnt work for the team.

but what should chandler do in houston? play 20 mins off the bench?

Neither Barganini nor JR earn $15M in a single year, nor did either structure their contract so the Knicks wouldn't match. People need to stop acting like Lin wanted to be here, he did not.
Why would you trade Chandler for him? So we are back to square 1, worse than before now with a PG but needing a center? Houston DOES NOT WANT HIM. And they aren't trading us Asik.
Felton & MWP & Expirers for Lin to take his contract. Take it or don't.

i dont fault lin for wanting to get paid.
looking at what bargs and jr make, 15 million for a competitive point guard in his prime in a point guard heavy league isnt too bad. especially a cash cow like linsanity.
i wouldnt trade chandler for lin but chandler and felton for lin asik.

To be fair, Felton was pretty good under Dantoni and tandeming up with Amare. Then the Knicks traded everyone for Melo.
Even if it was the system he was in, Felton was decent. Definitely top 20 :oldlol:

I didn't say it was good we lost Lin. I said comparing Lin to not drafting MICHAEL ****ING JORDAN was stupid.
if you think a comparison with Jordan and Lin makes sense, you are also stupid and honestly should never watch the NBA again.
WTF is wrong with the board and Lin? MJ vs. Lin? Serious?

i am talking not about the outcome of each decision but wether it made sense at the time it was made.
of course not having jordan has a greater impact than not having lin but one can follow the blazer's line of thought. (if sam bowie doesnt suffer season ending fractures three years in a row they even might have won a ring or two)
