Mello and Paul George can't play it.
Lebron and DH aren't the best of friends. This is going to be interesting.

So you're telling me that Hibbert or Noah are going to get more votes than LeBron, Melo, or Paul George?

OP has a point. since they choose 3 "bigs" instead of actual positions, the 5 starters are going to be the players with the most votes. no doubt george, melo, and lebron will get more votes that hibbert or noah. itll be weird if that does happen, but it definitely can.

Never said that, i just think that to play Lebron at centre (a position that he doesn't play) when there is a player that i think has earnt his spot is not really fair, they shouldn't allow this to happen.

This is where the probem lies, it needs to go back to G G F F C format.
starters = votes only and since they removed the center position there could be 3 forwards in the starting lineup. Do people not realize this? :facepalm

No more defensive role players in all star games. They're boring and offer the exact opposite of what we want to see from the games. The games purpose are to attract casuals and for the best in the world to clown each other while not really trying. Just fancy streetball hijinks. No one wants to see Hibbert or Noah protect the paint. Not in this game.

So you wouldn't enjoy watching Hibbert try and lock down D12?
This is the problem, players that work hard at their game miss out and crap like Blake Griffin make it just because of the media hype and exposure.

I wasn't serious but echoing the casual viewers opinion of the all star game.
What are you even saying? Blake doesn't put in work? That he doesn't deserve to be in the all-star game? You can be flashy and popular while still maintaining a level of competency.

Lebron stans will not want their hero to do that. If we saw what Kobe did to him in an all star game, wait till you see what Howard does to him, and I dislike Howard too.
Another embarrassing game for Lebron. I guarantee it.

No im not saying that, i believe Blake does put in the work, he just hasn't shown any improvement to his game on court and tbh i think at best he should on the bench. But I believe Hibbert has earnt his spot, melo should be on the bench with Bron and george starting.

Serious question, how the hell is Melo an All Star? The Knicks are 5-14 and the guy is shooting 43% from the field. Talk about undeserving.

Pretty insulting. Lebron has no chance of making it this year, East has too many good forwards. Besides the obvious ones (Bosh, George, Melo, etc.) there is Millsap, Sullinger, Deng, Nene, etc. Lebron is ok, but like Deandre Jordan, he only scores on dunks, but unlike Deandre, he sucks at defense this year(major coasting, being scored on at will by guys like Mbah Moute in Wolves game). He will only get in like Lin, voted in by idiot fans who don't watch games

At no point in time was Lin an all star, so how exactly was Lin voted in as an All Star? I think you must have mistaken the rising star game (where TNT crew pick Lin) as an all star game.

What is with the notion that LeBron "only scores on dunks"? 61% of his shots this year have been jumpers and he has a 59% efg on those shots.

ISH: Where dunks with no defense (Griffin, Lebron, Jeremy Evans) makes you a *good* player
Real life: Where playing team basketball with a commitment to defense wins you real non lockout rings in a conference where 50 win teams are the 8 seed (Kobe, Dirk, Duncan)

This new system is stupid.
All that is going to happen is someone will start, and after a few minutes or even right away, the coach will have to make a substitution. And everyone will understand this, because they won't want to get killed.

90% of those are with no defender in 7 feet. 59% on wide open jumpers is absolutely awful, I hope you are trolling posting that as if it is impressive.
Lebron shoots 42% outside of 5 feet. Even Ricky Rubio is shaking his head in disgust

Is it possible that KG's popularity could get him voted in? LeBron, Wade, and Carmello are basically assured as starters but the other guard and "big" will be interesting. Wall, Wade, George, Carmello, and LeBron would be an unconventional but exciting all-star lineup.

Make it as what? As starting center? I'd be shocked if he does make it with Melo, Lebron and George. He likely gets voted in by coaches.
I dont understand how its an insult to Hibbert. Those 3 guys are better than him and deserve those spots.

it's only an insult if even the coaches left you out.
too many here don't understand the concept of all-star voting by fans. if you don't like it, then be the change you want to be. affect the voting by voting properly.

I'm kind of happy that the Eastern conference doesn't have to desperately search for some big slob who puts up 9/9 to start at center in the all-star game any more like they have for years. Rather make some room for some deserving players. The center position is dead. Let's not clutter up the all-star game with Jamaal Magloires.

Melo is my guy but he doesn't deserve to be an all star this year.
If he makes it over more deserving players then the NBA need to change the voting thing.
Lebron, PG, Hibbert, idk shooting guard but point guard will probably be Kyrie
