Shaq (2001) - 487 points, 28,7 ppg
Kobe (2001) - 471 points, 28,5 ppg

Jordan did that like 3 times in the Playoffs though and Kobe wasn't tied with Shaq in ppg, back in '01, Shaq scored 0.2 more (taking less shots and playing less minutes also).

Wtf is pointguard/shooters though? Dude like Bird didn't play the point and you got some there that aren't great shooters.

indeed

22 away from most playoff assists from a non PG of All-Time.

I thought you meant leading the team in apg and ppg in the Finals while winning... that is more meaningful than leading in the regular reason against bad defenses and when games don't matter that much.

98 mj is overrated... how anyone with a 3.5apg average as a guard could win league mvp is beyond me

96-97 Playoffs

MJ: 29.6 PPG, 4.3 APG
Pip: 19.2 PPG, 3.8 APG

90-91 Finals

MJ: 31.2 PPG, 11.4 APG
Pip: 20.8 PPG, 6.6 APG

mj did it in a series here and there. but anything can happen in 4-7 games

its more telling of how the bulls played going based on the entire year

total up all 82 games and playoffs and pippen probably still has the lead in all 6 titles for apg

Mj led the Bulls in asts for the 91 playoffs. Mj avged 30 ppg on 55% with 11asts in the nba finals something Kobe will never do.

ya if you wanna go the extra mile and say theres big enough a difference between 28.5 and 28.7 to say it wasnt co-lead

even in the playoffs they both averaged 29

but i think its way more nitpicky to say the last few games of the bulls 1991 title are more telling on the style of play than the first 95+ games

thats why i said he was co-leader with shaq

if you round the numbers out its even.. both either 28ppg or 28.5... neither guy had more than a 0.5 differential between them during regular season or playoffs.

they were separated by less than half a percentage point

but whatever its not like anyone else has more than 2 anyway. go ahead and take off 2001 and kobes still tied for the most titles in nba history as leading ppg/apg

Post the FG%'s. Anyone can lead their team in PPG if they shoot enough.

aj1987
10-03-2013, 05:49 PM
even in the playoffs they both averaged 29

Kobe averaged 29.4 and Shaq averaged 30.4. So, Kobe did it only twice. The same as Lebron.

BTW, Lebron had the most points, assists, rebounds, and steals in '12 &'13.

Good god almighty. 31 points and 11 assists per over the course of an entire NBA Finals series. On 56% shooting no less. And 7 rebounds. And 3 steals. And 1.4 blocks...

It's startling every time I see it.

kennethgriffin

if kobe was listed at point guard he'd probably have gotten more credit for those first 3 titles

and he was their point guard

any time the best assist/play maker/point guard is also putting up 25-30ppg with 1st team all defense. he usually gets the nod as the main guy on the team

but because he was listed at SG nobody paid attention to his leading assist numbers

Yeah I'm also interested in the list of players who struggled to make the playoffs with 3 other hall of famers on the team. Or choked away a 3-1 series lead in the playoffs.

Pretty sure you just madd because It's a positive Kobe thread and u have hate in ur blood.

I'm sure if a MJ fan made a positive Jordan thread, Ud be singing a different tune....something along the lines of ":applause: that's why he's the greatest"...I'm sure my description is accurate.

N!gga didn't say Kobe is the GOAT, just made a thread about team assist and point leaders. Would he have made the thread if Kobe didn't excel at this? No, but who cares if he didn't make a thread of YOUR fav player, he made one of his. How is this a crime? Why are posters so butthurt?

If this is how ISH goes down, then we should be butthurt and madd at every pro Bird, Magic, Hakeem, LeBron, and Duncan thread....

I didn't even bother to check Russell. I was so sure that there was no way Bill Russell led in assists.
