So I think they'll roughly go 18-10. Currently they are 25-29, and this would put them 43-39 for the season. Is this enough to make the 8 spot?

I could see them going better than that.
And I think that 43 wins is enough.

Those are all automatic losses if you ask me. Their home schedule is pretty easy though.

Why would I care how they do in 2103? If I'm even alive then, I'll be 113 years old.
43 wins wont be enough. its gonna be at least 46 or 48 wins

I agree. 43 wins won't be enough. That road schedule is pretty tough. They will have to be above .500 on the road the rest of the way to have a chance. Their home schedule is manageable.

So is this when their season starts? :sleeping :sleeping
haha, not a very good schedule to look forward to a lot of teams who are playing cohesively and well and a lot who make some noise. Hopefully Kobe will make the playoffs, hes just too fun to watch, but this isn't amazing news.

43 wins might be enough, but that's far from certain given that Houston has one of the easiest remaining schedules in the league, and Utah has the tiebreaker against LA.
Even if 43 is enough though, the Lakers would still need to go 18-10 to get there, and they haven't shown that kind of consistency in winning all season.
It could happen, but I think the odds are against it.

It is quite possible that they go less than .500 on their remaining games, they are pretty anemic on the road.

22-6? I should probably put them down for a couple more losses, but I figure they're definitely not going to finish sub-.500 (meaning at a minimum, they'll go 16-12). I actually asterisked 8 more games they could reasonably lose, for a 15-13 finish which would put them at 40-42.

What I don't get about this is that people don't take into consideration what the team above will have to do to set that line.
The Rockets, if they're the team above the Lakers, have to go 16-9 to get to 45 wins. 17-8 for 46, 18-7 for 47, 19-6 for 48. They're not near that pace right now. What makes anyone expect that to be the standard they play to? The teams behind, logically, have to go even better. The Jazz are on pace for about 46 wins...and they're ahead of Houston.

Good point, I didn't make a playoffs prediction for this exact reason.

No more bad losses. These are the gimme games they've got remaining:
Portland 2x
Minnesota 2x
New Orleans 2x
Toronto
Orlando
Sacramento 2x
Phoenix
Washington
Milwaukee
That's 13 games that should be wins. The Lakers can't afford to lose about any of those.

I very much doubt they beat Sacramento X 2, they are 1-1 against us and there only win came when we didn't have Cousins on top of that the Kings trashed them 3-0 in the preseason where all there starters were healthy and played 30+ mins (not that preseason means much). Kings always get up tp play the Lakers and match up fairly well.
But the Lakers do have a high number of winnable games theres no doubt about that.

Losing to the Kings twice, the Pistons, the Raptors at home, and the Sixers is not the sign of a good team, even if they beat the Thunder, Nuggets, Clippers (without their best player), and Knicks. The rest of their wins like Milwaukee, Portland, Atlanta, and Brooklyn are all against mediocre or slightly above average teams.

21-7, for a 46-36 record, which should get them into the playoffs unless they have games like the road games against the Suns, Kings, Cavs, and Raptors or the home losses against the Magic and Sixers where they play down to the competition, which can cost them from now on.

They will start their run for the playoffs tonight against boston. Second of a back to back on the road for the celtics and the lakers will be hungry for revenge. Tonight will be a butt whipping. Do it for dr. Buss.
They win 3 of 4 from here on out and they make the playoffs. I think they will do so.

Do you think that Pop will be resting his players or that LAL will beat them full strength? Will they be assured of a playoff spot by then? Can't see Pop resting his players if there's a chance to eliminate Lakers - seeing as they would probably play each other in the first round.

Misread that as Sacramento, yeah we'll probably lose that game. 20-8

The Lakers aren't sweeping Atlanta without Gasol. Nash and Duhon trying to guard Teague is mismatch hell and Dwight won't follow Horford out of the paint which will give Al pretty much wide open jumpers all game.

If LAL loses 8 games, then either UTA loses 13 games or HOU loses 11 games (depends on last game HOU/LAL) for LA to make the playoffs. HOU has a pretty easy schedule. UTA does not but holds the tiebreaker.
