Tim Duncan down with knee injury against the Wizards in the second quarter.
It looked serious, he had to call two teammates to help him to go back to the locker room.
It could be huge for the rest of the season for the Spurs.
According to the Wizards announcers at the beginning of the third quarter: sprained left knee and sprained left ankle.
Duncan's leg was caught when Martell Webster falled down after a blocked shot.

Watching the game now. It could potentially be serious. I am 70% sure it is a season ending injury. He got caught in a falling group, and his left knee got caught and twisted his left knee. :(

On the way to locker room
he was able to walk on his own
I hope the brace he was wearing did protect him this time

Really hope it's not serious. He's had problems with his knees throughout his career, but he's worked really hard to stay in shape and he's having a shockingly good year. Plus, this appears to be the best Spurs team in years.

So...Stephen Curry 2013 All-Star?

curry replaces him
So...Stephen Curry 2013 All-Star?
1. Curry is also injured, right?
2. Doesn't it have to be a frontcourt player? In the East, they could move Paul George to guard to accommodate Lopez, but what would they do to get Curry in?
On topic, hope Tim is ok, he's one of the greats.

Sad to see if he's out the year. He's actually having one of his better years since 2006-7 season, especially on the defensive end.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought Paul George was selected as a guard to start with.
Wow. Feels like a bad dream or something. I'm sure for all Spurs fans, our hearts sunk into our stomachs after seeing that. I really hope it isn't serious, and at this point I just don't want it to be a career ending injury. His career can't just end like that after the absolutely amazing season he's been having...
MRI tomorrow.
Please be ok, TD. :(

it was bound to happen one day...isnt he like 9999 years old. I see a future similar to the celtics one for the spurs. Nothing lasts for ever.

damn son, Curry to replace? I mean there are still 12 days before the game which could be plenty of time for TD to recover.

Not even close. Parker just turned 30 and is playing the best ball of his career. Manu Ginobli has pretty much already been phased out since he is already injured all the time anyways. The next two starters are Kwahi and Splitter who are both under 30 and still improving.
The only injury that really hurts is Duncan, but if this really is career-ending then that give the Spurs 10+million to work with this offseason (actually maybe even more since Capn' Jack comes off the books as well).
The celtics are stuck with pierce and KG who are both over the hill, a tweener in Jeff green, Avery Bradly (who I love and is a defensive stud), and their best player coming off a season-ending injury himself.

1. No, Curry had over 20 points tonight. He looked fine and is back for now.
2. It does not. Brook lopez replaced rondo. Lee replaced Iverson on year. The West already has Griffin, Howard, Lee, Alrdridge, and Randolph for the front court.

^ yeah GabeisGone, I agree the Spurs transition to the future has been more methodical and proactive than the Celtics. They made a good move when they turned a #26 pick in 2009 (George Hill) into a #15 pick a few years later (Kawhi Leonard), and they have Tiago Splitter signed to a cheap contract (by the time SA has to re-sign him cap space will be available). A loss of Duncan would be tough (knock on wood), but the Spurs have been in a transitional stage for at least 2 seasons now.

You'll make the Finals regardless of Duncan's condition but you'll get killed by the Heat either way.

If we are to use one off regular season match-ups as any deciding factor Miami wouldn't of won it all last year.
hopefully it will not be serious.
take a few games off, nurse it, rest it, and hopefully be healthy to play again.

Lucky break. He has been the best big in the NBA all season.
Great news.
Would have been tragic if that was the end of his career. But we got 11 weeks until the playoffs and Timmy can rest the remainder of the regular season for all I care.

 Sit him as long as he needs. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play for a month. But atleast it gives the supporting cast a chance to step up and get more minutes in preparation for the playoffs.
