Miami should be the favorites. OKC as well. Lakers need the next 4-5 months to learn each other's tendencies and such.

It is surprising to see how many GMs voted for Miami. They either have some sort of bias against the Lakers / OKC or are underestimating them. But there's not much weight in these type of surveys, nobody knows how the playoffs will end when the season hasn't even started yet.

To me if you discount LA you either think Dwight doesn't fit, or will be hurt, or something. Because if he fits well, everyone is screwed. He makes so much of what they do that much better. Especially with Nash distributing and not the crappy PG's they had. LA was very competitive against OKC and added Nash and Howard and a semblence of a bench and lost only Bynum.

the fact that 17th year kobe is still above prime d-wade should tell you something

jordan was retired after 13 seasons, then came back for a 14th and 15th and wasnt even a top 10 player

magic johnson was retired after 13 seasons

larry bird was retired after 13 seasons

bill russell was retired after 13 seasons

wilt chamberlain was retired after 14 seasons

so even if you adjusted for kobe coming out of highschool ( 2 years earlier than these other guys )... that would mean all of them still would have been finished by their 15th or 16th seasons

kobe in his 17th is a top 5 player... best SG in the nba over a legendary guy in his prime DWYANE WADE

They dont have bias against both teams.Lakers is picked to win WC 60%.They are favourites. However miami has gotten stronger too.Actually if they can stay healthy they will be much better this time around. Both bosh and wade had significant injuries at the time.

Again dont get me wrong as i said in another thread,if lakers can somehow put it all together they would be the favourites however at this point against miami they are not favourites. We all know how it all turned upside down for miami in the first year for big three.

Another thing is we all saw how important bench is again and again.Lakers has one of the worst benches in the league.Miami has one of the best.Thats another thing to consider.

As i said earlier miami is heavy favourites to repeat

-I wonder which GM picked Atlanta to win the division over Miami. I'd love to give him a call and make a wager with him.

-No GMs voting for Kobe as the best in the league, I am impressed.

-100% of GMs voted LeBron as either the best SF or PF in the league.

-The 4 best perimeter defenders in the NBA are Tony Allen, Avery Bradley, LeBron James, Andre Iguodala. College coaches show their teams clips of only these guys on how to play lockdown perimeter defense.

I honestly do not see the Heat as being clear favorites to repeat. By all star break I can see the Lakers fully gelling and adjusting to one another. IMO, they are slight favorites considering they have a complete team. Every starter on their team sans Nash has Finals experience. The Heat should behind them, and the Thunder are close behind the Heat.

If I were to randomly assign percentages to my championship favorites they would be...

Lakers- 35%
Heat- 30%
Thunder- 25%
Other- 10%

4 of the Lakers starters are in their 30's. Nash will be turning 39 yrs.old soon. I love to see Miami run a fast pace offense when they play the Los Angeles Lakers. They need to get Howard into foul trouble.

-Lakers transition defense already looks like a ****ing joke
-Howard isn't much better than a healthy Andrew Bynum(That LA had last year)
-Nashs talents won't be fully utilized on a slow halfcourt team(See Phoenix Suns with Shaq)
-Mike Brown is an awful ****ing coach
-Kobe still thinks hes worth 20+ shots a game

LA won't even be able to get past OKC, let alone worry about the Finals.

I don't know how the hell the Heat are going to stop a Pau and Dwight front line with a Battier/Lebron and Bosh frontline. Think of what Dwight did to Cleveland in 09, and amplify it by ten and that's what a LA Miami finals would be like lol.

The Cheat are so lucky to play in the East. There's 3 teams in the West that could beat them in a series and none in the East.

But don't overestimate Miami...their roleplayers are vitually all washed up.

Yea but you can't forget, Lebron individually demolished that Orlando team in that series. Though it's much more telling of the perimeter defenders the Magic implored back then (and always since Dwight's been there) and less on Dwight himself. Bron also had a much, much more reliable jumpshot that year.

But yea, not sure what the Heat's plan will be to guard the Lakers inside. Using Joel or Haslem makes them an easier team to defend. Not using them makes them a easier team to score on in the post.

I highly doubt Bron will be guarding Dwight for extended minutes, as he would be exerting more energy than Spo likes and will undoubtedly pick up early fouls. That means out of the starting lineup, Dwight's primary defender will be Bosh.

Yikes.

Like I've been saying all off-season, I think in a series: LA>Miami, OKC > LA, Miami > OKC. Comes down to who can avoid who en route to the Finals.

Artest guards Lebron as well as anyone, and Kobe always does a great job on Wade. I don't see an issue other then maybe fast break points. It'll be even easier for Kobe and Metta now that they have Dwight backing them up. Chalmers and Cole could cause some issues, but I don't see a way they alter the series enough to give Miami a win.

If Chalmers shoots the ball well from beyond the arc he could possibly change the momentum in a series.

The same can be said for many players on both teams though, so make of that what you will.

Do people honestly think the Lakers will beat Miami in a 7 game series? Unless they're feeding Dwight every single time down the floor every minute of the game, they have no advantage. Wade can outplay Kobe if he's healthy, LeBron will destroy, Bosh will definitely have his moments and contribute, and then the bench should just obliterate LA. How will the Lakers guard a Chalmers/Wade/LeBron/Battier/Haslem lineup with Pau and Dwight on the floor? Pau will be hovering around the 3 point line guarding Battier. Just like Perkins last year, I think Howard will be in foul trouble all series with Wade, LeBron and Bosh going inside. Miami is the better team and will win if they play.

[QUOTE=All Net]I don't think MWP guards Lebron that well anymore. Maybe him losing the weight might helpt that.

Chalmers isn't some great PG but He could get past the Laker guards with ease with the speed he has. The fact Miami have so many shooters is what could be the issue here. The perimeter D from the Lakers doesn

Always had a feeling StateofMind was a troll in disguise. These last few days are just excessive evidence.

I guess even clowns get tired of wearing their make-up/masks every now and then :confusedshrug:

Actually i think MWP losing weight might hurt him against lebron.Because unlike other players lebron generally overpowers his opponents.MWP might be the only SF in the league who can match him in this regard

However losing weight should help a lot against durant gay carmelo pierce.

MWP is one of the strongest players in the league, losing a little weight won't hurt him a bit, will only add to his endurance and quickness.

the fact that 17th year kobe is still above prime d-wade should tell you something

jordan was retired after 13 seasons, then came back for a 14th and 15th and wasnt even a top 10 player

magic johnson was retired after 13 seasons

larry bird was retired after 13 seasons

bill russell was retired after 13 seasons

wilt chamberlain was retired after 14 seasons

so even if you adjusted for kobe coming out of highschool ( 2 years earlier than these other guys )... that would mean all of them still would have been finished by their 15th or 16th seasons

kobe in his 17th is a top 5 player... best SG in the nba over a legendary guy in his prime DWYANE WADE

I normally don't use bad language, but you need to get Kobe's dick out of your mouth. Everybody was talking about the topic of this thread, and you had to come with your obsession about Kobe.

Here is what ALphaWolf is waiting for, which in his view will make Kobe GOAT KOBE GETS 6TH RING AT AGE 58 Published: JULY 25, 2037 11:20 pm http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o222/tmedny20/kobeold.jpg It may have taken 27 years, since his last championship, but Kobe Bryant has finally tied Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant and current Iraqi born, Seattle Crabcatchers superstar Mohammed Jassim Ali, for six NBA championships. Although the picture above shows the 58 year old Kobe Bryant celebrating after scoring a bucket against his own team, due to an ongoing bout with Alzheimers, his coach stated, he just enjoyed Kobe showing that old school fire, that still burns inside. The Los Angeles Lakers had already built a comfortable 18 point lead, prior to Kobe being put in the game, during the final 37 seconds, of the fourth quarter. Kobe fired off 5 shots in that time and 2 of them were at the wrong basket. Lakers Coach Dwight Howard stated he just wanted to let the elderly Kobe get in the game, once things were in hand.

Took the liberty of replacing Andrew, who'll be coaching the 76ers, with Dwight now.

And oh yeah, that RRR3 pic is as played out as when peeps were posting that "Brian" pic a few months back. You aren't dealing with "suicidal" cats here at ISH. These guys will keep serving your ass, rather you post their pic or not.

Don't worry, Dwight's name will be replaced with Lebron's during the 2014 season.

How did so many people vote Durant as the best for getting his own shot? Please :kobe:

Also NOW I see LeBron gets votes for wanting to take game winners. Funny how much winning a ring does :lol

73.3 + 16.7 = 100

Which would mean that GMs feel that Lebron is the best at some position whether it's SF or PF..

LMAO oh my

The Cheat are so lucky to play in the East. There's 3 teams in the West that could beat them in a series and none in the East.

But don't overestimate Miami...their roleplayers are vitually all washed up.

You are an idiot.

The GM's of Phoenix and Orlando should be strung up for giving a good team Dwight/Nash. Wouldn't have mattered if it was Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, Spurs.... why empower a team like that?
Sure it seems bias as I am a Heat fan, but the fact remains that if I was a GM I wouldn't have made those deals and risk putting myself out of championship race for a couple of years.
Honestly as a GM I'd hang up on Suns and Orlando after that.

I thought it was a 100%, turns out it is actually 90%. I guess 10% feels that Durant is better than Lebron.

Interesting take on addition.
