"There's definitely a different feel going into the locker room, definitely a different feel just being down there playing with those guys," said Love, who arrived back in the Twin Cities from Southern California late last week. "I'm really excited, I'm really excited about this team. ... I think we've definitely added value to this team. I think the locker room is going to be great. I think the players we have on this team can make an immediate impact."

Love will report for Monday's media day and Tuesday's training-camp start in Mankato.

He's also unapologetic for suggesting during the London Olympics that the Wolves will make the playoffs.

"A lot of people got on me and said, 'How's Kevin Love able say the Timberwolves are going to make the playoffs?''' he said. "Why wouldn't I say that? I have faith in this team, I have faith in what we've done this offseason. I do think we have a great shot to make the playoffs. If anybody else says otherwise ... I think we have to go out there and prove what we're made of. It was definitely a tremendous summer for me, a tremendous summer for our team."

Keeping up with Pek

Love called himself in "good shape" and says he'll use training camp to get in better shape. He still, however, apparently wasn't in good enough shape to keep up with Nikola Pekovic during pickup games Monday. Pekovic dropped at least eight pounds and has reduced his body fat from 12 to 8 percent.

"I had to guard him for five games yesterday and in the second game I was already tired," Love said. "He's really in shape. Having to guard him down there is tough. I think he's going to have a really great year."

If you don't think the Wolves are going to bang with every other team in the West with a real shot at a top 5 seed, YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

UNITED WE RUN.

We're completely set at every position, have one of the top coaches in the league leading us, and we have a superstar who's hungry for the playoffs.

If Rubio comes back healthy he could lead this team to the playoffs. Otherwise they won't make it.

I think Shved will play fine at pointguard if needed. We don't need Rubio for the entire season.

Pretty close. Nothing is set in stone yet. I would throw in Andrei Kirilenko between Love and Roy, if we start Roy. If Roy can't start, we have Chase Buddinger, Alexey Shved, or Malcolm Lee. I am looking forward to seeing this Alexey play. I need to order me a jersey now. Minnesota will be back in the playoffs this year!!!

I'm not very good at observing things like that, so I wouldn't know. What would you say that's around, though?

Anyway, I'm excited to watch this Wolves squad. Back to the playoffs is a little optimistic, but if things hold up well, I can see it happening. This hinges a little too much on relative newbies making an impact and old vets needing to prove that they can play close to their old levels for my taste. Pek is definitely someone to look out for, though. He was an absolute bruiser down in the post last year, and I don't see that changing at all. He's also worked on his left handed finishes, which, besides some physical limitations, was his only real weakness last year.

I love these type of responses. Everyone is built differently, and a lot of the photos you see claiming a certain bodyfat percentage is while tensed, and glamour shots.

Its funny seeing posters on here compare professional bodybuilders and power athletes like basketballers when trying to compare bodyfat. They are built differently, going for different goals. 6-10% bodyfat in 100 different people can look completely different among all 100 people depending on diet, training, goals, muscle mass, weight, bone density, etc.

I highly doubt it, but if someone worked out hard to drop some weight, and get better at basketball then that is nothing but good for them, and their team. Good luck to the Wolves.

It's not only that. People are used to seeing pictures of people flexing like mad. They probably think Pek has no muscle because of his arms, but if you look at when they are flexed you see that he's actually pretty swoll:

http://cdn1.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1007932/12aee3_Wolf_02172012.jpg

Look at that shit; compare his wrist size to the size of his upper arm. He is swoll.

It's like all of the people who say Melo is fat.

Now, 8% body fat... is crazy shit though. I'm just saying everyone who is saying his body fat is high is ignorant.

:facepalm And if i have, then I'll ask you have you seen Rubio play? Because if you've seen rubio play, then you would know how stupid you sound. Rubio is very important to this team. Look at the nosedive of the Wolves season last year when Rubio went down. Shved is not to replace Rubio lol

I mean if someone expects Shved to be as good as Rubio at PG, he's a fool, which is what he implied.
