after chalmers missed the potential game tying 3 to end the game. he was motioning to the rest of the pacers to 'lets go' and get back into the locker room.

He said in the post game interview, they didn't want to celebrate one win, they need 3 more to win the series, or something to that effect.

I'd guess he probably didn't want them celebrating the win.

Because D-West is a professional and a vet, he knows that they didnt come to win one game, they came to win the series.

no need to get excited over one win

He wanted the rest of the team to act like they've "been there before" and stop celebrating after game 2 of the semis.

Granger popping the champagne at center court was, I thought, a bit much.

This. He knows damn well this is not the completed goal and knows it has only begun. They have put themselves in a great situation by stealing this game, but its still not gonna be easy.

Him being here has really raised the maturity of this team compared to last year.

Freaking Granger had bubbly at center court like 2 minutes after the game ended, West wasn't having none of that

I guess gotten as far as anybody on that time other than Hill... but c'mon the guy is acting like he's been to championships doing this.

I could care less but I would feel happy about the win and want to celebrate a little bit.

I'm sure the league's offices will have something to say. I don't believe I've ever seen something so blatantly over the top. You know Riles was in Sterns ear 5 minutes later

I disagree. I think West was more afraid of Granger getting fined by the league for poppin a champagne bottle on the court.

I thought Granger was dumb. So what's he planning to do if they actually win the series? Have a Eastern Conference Finals Appearance Championship Parade with an open bar?

I don't get how they allowed him to bring the bottle of champagne to the bench. That has to be some kind of violation

I don't see why West was so upset. Granger could drink a bottle of champagne for every field goal he's made in the series so far and still be sober.

Can someone show it? Cuz it looked to me as if granger was one of the first players to leave the court. You clearly see west continue to scream "LETS GO!" After granger passed him.

From an article on espn:

"Did the Indiana Pacers uncork and toast champagne after their 78-75 victory over the Heat in Game 2 to knot this second-round playoff series at one game apiece?

No, they didn't.

But did a couple of Pacers celebrate on the Heat's court after the buzzer in a victory that gave them a greater sense of confidence, having seized home-court advantage heading back to Indiana for Games 3 and 4 of the series?

Absolutely. "

He wanted to get off the court before the last play where Chalmers was fouled on the 3 could be reviewed.
