It takes time to build a winning team....you forgot Lebron was a 19-year old franchise player on a lottery team, unlike Kobe came to a team with Shaq that won 56 and 61 games in his first 2 seasons in a limited role....PERSPECTIVE LITTLE ONE.

I credit Lebron for sticking it out there for 7 years....Kobe was threatening trades after just 3 seasons, while publicly throwing teammates under the bus.....you must have a short memory dude.

Magic Johnson lost 4 times in the Finals with a stacked team, and no one is gonna piss in his Cheerios for it.

Lebron has TIME on his side, and a championship-caliber team to boot.....HATE ON THAT

Lebron is putting up numbers year after year never before seen in the modern era of basketball...(aside from Peak Michael Jordan). Even Kobe said he want to play next to Lebron more than anyone, and even said he had "genious numbers".

WEAK SAUCE KID.....in a recent poll in the last couple of days, Kobe is right there with Lebron as the most hated athlete in basketball....you got a SHORT-MEMORY dude....

1. Kobe was an arrogant, pompous kid when he entered the league. He was NOT well-received, don't let his All-Star nomination fool you.

2. Kobe has a long history of turbulence amongst his team.....Phil Jackson called him "uncoachable", and was pushing for a trade of Kobe for Jason Kidd.

3. The Shaq-fued speaks for itself.

4. Kobe has suffered some terrible defeats in the playoffs....off the top of my head, he bowed out in a 30+point blowout to Boston, and threw in the towel against Phoenix, that saw him intentionally pull back his shooting when they needed it the most....he also blew a 3-1 series lead to that Suns team. Also see last year Mavs series...

5. Before the "No-bitching" rule was instituted....Kobe was well known as being one the game's greatest crybabies, often electing to get in a pissing match with the ref and not get back on defense..

6. Let's not forget the "flailing arm" incidences where he would purposely over-exaggerate his follow-thru, and smack dudes in the face.....Manu, Raja Bell were victims of this amongst others.

7. Kobe is the biggest offensive flopper i've ever seen...he would routinely go in the lane, fall all over the place yelling "HEY!!" with no contact trying to bait refs into calls so obvious a blind man could see.

8. The love for Kobe has only slightly increased over the last few years as his maturity improved with age...Lebron is doing the same as we speak.....

The Bulls won 49 games in 2006-2007.. so he was demanding a trade to a team that had just lost in the conference semifinals. The Bulls weren't garbage at the time and if he had been traded to Chicago, they probably would have had a much better record in 2007-2008 (the season that he requested the trade). The Bulls finished 33-49 that in 2007-2008 so if he would have requested a trade following that season, then your argument would be a lot more valid. I have Kobe in the top 10 and 2nd greatest guard to ever play behind Jordan....i recognize his greatness and skills without a problem. You don't draw close comparisons to Jordan for no reason. He is a real ALL-TIME legend.

But i also have no problems with recognizing his faults, something you Kobe fanboys have serious issues with....to you idiots, it's always SOMEONE ELSE, be it Phil, the triangle, his teammates, the defense, his injuries, etc.

I never had beef with the GOAT players of my era, or try to discredit their legacy, unlike Kobe fanboys.

And my beef with Kobe is with his fanboys, who overrate him in respect to Michael. That's a mountain Kobe can't climb, yet his legion of idiots will continue to push for it, illogically and irrationally at that....

Do you respect Lebron's greatness or no??

ring chasing is when you add yourself to a team ( not swapped for their best players )

ring chasing is when you join a guy that had won a ring without you and is still good enough to win more ( ala drexler to houston, then payton and malone to LA and now lebron to miami )

lebron james probably is the best in the nba. regular season wise hes great... a stat master

gets those numbers... hes great

you act like us kobe fans are mad that this could be a possibility at this stage in kobes career

sh*t we're mostly amaized hes averaging 30 right now

that in itself is shocking in a 16th season

we're happy hes just in the convo

LOL and ring chasing isnt respectable no matter what lebron does in the finals... there will always be asterisks and question marks

sorry... lebron has to win one without another player whos arguably better than him on the biggest stage... kobe had to... so does lebron

You need to re-check Shaq's numbers vs. Kobe's in their first 3-chips together....ON THE BIGGEST STAGE...

Shaq dominated while Kobe did well in a supporting role.

lol its only a season saving confrence finals when you end the season by winning

saving your team or being the best in a losing season doesnt really equal much

lebron should have atleast showed up for a game or 2 in the finals like kobe did in 2000

all i know is... if lebron in his absolute prime still cant totally fend off old man kobe in his 16th season and still has polls asking "who would you rather have" or "who would bird rather play with" should tell you just how much better kobe was when he was prime.

i doubt kobe would have these questions and polls when jordan was with the wizards and kobe was entering his prime..

Remind me who Kobe said he wanted to play alongside with yesterday?

yea and i like how lebron fans ignore kobes other 4 rings lol

nobody says kobes 1st title was jaw dropping

he was good in the playoffs overall and had a few great games in the finals..

he was mainly responsible for them even getting their in the first place. mvp of game 7 wcf for sure

but still.. lebron fans need to get it through their head that kobe fans can brag because he proved that being a champion in 2000 wasnt a fluke by becoming a champion in 2001.. and 2002... and 2009... and 2010... all while averaging great playoff numbers and in some cases.. legendary finals numbers

Because if we go by PER, '06 Kobe is better than any version of Magic and Bird in the Regular Season and '09 Kobe is better than any version of Magic and Bird in the Playoffs

People who use PER as the sole basis of their so called "argument" are nothing but undercover bandwagon Lebron fan Kobe haters. well the thing about great players with allot of success having a bad finals performance game is...they arnt looked at as chokers because chokers never win to offset the bad moments or make up for them

if lebron already had 5 rings before last year and choked the entire finals... i'm sure people would forgive him

like for instance... kobe also has 2 finals losses

vs detroit and vs boston

thing is... he won 5 out of 7

lebron lost 2 finals...

vs san antonio and dallas

but hes 0 for 2

In the grand scheme of things compared to other finals performances, not really. For him, that's great.. I'm sure his FG% was below .500 as well because it always is, but you said "in some cases" (plural) which is completely false. It's just crazy to sit here and act like he's been GREAT in the finals when clearly we know that he hasn't. LeBron is even worse thus far in his career, but some of you guys on this board just overdo it when it comes to Kobe.

pretty sure kobe put his finger prints all over that 2000 final

he saved game 4.. the series would have went 7 games without that win... and anything can happen in a game 7..

not to mention kobe was a 1st team all defender at the time and the other team had jalen rose and reggie miller.

Admittingly Kobe only really had one "Great" game in the 2000 NBA finals.

However, he got hurt in game 2 only 9 minutes into the game, and didn't come back the rest of the game. And didn't play in game 3 either.

So those stats are from a pretty small sample size.

Game 4 of the finals Shaq fouled out, The Pacers were closing in on the Lakers that game and were about to even the series 2-2. However, Kobe put the game away late in the fourth.

Reggie Miller also had a combined 28 points in the first 2 games of the Finals, but exploded for 33 with Kobe out in game 3.

So lets not act like Kobe had nothing to do with them winning this series.

Clearly Shaq was the better player that series, but Kobe wasn't some scrub either.

REGARDLESS of any of your points....your missing THE BIG ONE....Lebron's Cavs COULD NOT WIN if he missed any games at all, and especially could not win shooting the way Kobe shot in the games he played in.....

Last 2 games of 2000 Finals = 8 for 27 and 4 for 20 for Kobe.

Lebron could never get away with that, on the Heat or the Cavs., PERIOD>

For sure not the Cavs, there wasn't anybody else to carry the scoring load.

In all honestly though Lebron probably could go 8 for 27 with the Heat and still win that game in the Finals.

Wade won a Ring as the #1 option, so if Lebron isn't play up to par for a game or two its not impossible to think that Wade & Bosh could put together a couple W's

Uhm I didn't compare Wade to anybody? All i said was that Wade is capable of winning a ring as the number 1 option.

So when you have a Team of Lebron, Wade & Bosh, Either one of those guys could have an off game and still pull out the W aslong as the other two play well.

Do you understand what you wrote? Kobe has played in the finals SEVEN times, you wrote "in some cases" as if dude has put up "legendary" numbers more than once (if those numbers are even legendary). Oh and it's 32.4 ppg, 7.4 apg & 5.6 rpg BUT .430 FG%, like I said it's by far his best finals performance, but I wouldn't consider that legendary. I understand scoring is his thing and 32.4 is one of the highest ppg averages but there are more impressive COMPLETE performances in NBA Finals history. Take a look for yourself...

http://www.nba.com/history/finalsmvps.html

Jordan in 1991, 1992, 1993, & 1997, Hakeem in 1995, Shaq from 2000 to 2002, Dwyane Wade in 2006, Bill Walton in 1977 & Larry Bird in 1984...great performance by Kobe but it wasn't anything that had not happened before.

On a side note, people really believe Kobe should have won a finals MVP during the 3-peat!? I'm not too fond of Shaq, but Shaq's numbers are insane LOL oh and now Pau Gasol is a subpar second option? Really!? LOL

Not what I said at all, but of course you being the Stan that you are, you twist my words in a way that satisfies your argument. There are worse finals performances than his, but there are also better ones. Kobe undoubtedly deserved Finals MVP in '09 but that's about as far as it goes. That's another problem with you guys, even when a person compliments your GAWD you're too blind to notice, unless that compliment agrees with your opinion of him. The general dismay Kobe fanboys have for Lebron is alarming....what ever happened to respecting the games best players?? I guarantee that Jordan fans didn't have this much hate for Bird, Magic, Barkley, Malone, Stockton, etc. and vice versa....

GROW UP KIDS...these are your generations GOAT players....show your respect for the game and their talents.

Kobe fan checking in and I definitely respect Lebron's game much more now than his Cleveland days.

Jordan fans may not have hate for Bird/Magic because during his career he was already considered better than them. Remember though, Jordan fanboys hate on Kobe and Lebron quite a bit because of their potential to overtake Jordan.

Remember back when Kobe was dropping 40/50 point games like nothing? How about when Kobe made the Finals and won 2 more rings in 3 years? Jordan fans were out in full force hating on Kobe and defending Jordan.

Now, you see a lot of Lebron threads with both Kobe and Jordan fanboys hating on Lebron.

The hate stems from the potential that it's possible the player will overtake him in the all-time standings. With MJ, no one has come close til Kobe/Lebron. Kobe was on his way to possibly winning more titles while also putting up similar numbers and having more impressive scoring outbursts. Lebron is putting up efficiency numbers that rival MJ's while winning titles and accolades.

No. Just NO. Jordan has backed Kobe because there is no risk of anyone ever mistaking Kobe as being better than MJ. And frankly, given his puzzling disappearing acts no one really thinks LeBron can get there either.
