Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Kidd and New York Knicks forward David Lee have been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured West All-Star guard Kobe Bryant (ankle) of the Los Angeles Lakers and East All-Star guard Allen Iverson (personal reasons) of the Philadelphia 76ers, respectively, in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game in Dallas.

Smith, Crawford, and Jackson all had legit cases--as did Lee. What likely pushed Lee over the top is the Hawks and Bobcats already have an all-star while the Knicks had none this year and have not had any in years. Oddly, in the West four teams have multiple all-stars (LAL, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix) but in the East only Boston does (The Celtics are the only team with 3 all-stars).
