I think you'd have to become a professor with a degree like that. I guess you could also write books on the subject.
I know Vince Carter has a degree because he received it on the same day as game 7 against Philly in 01.

He also graduated after his junior year. So he finished in 3years. Didn't Ben Gordon say that Okafor always studied and reading textbooks while they were on the bus/planes to away games?
I also remember some scrub who barely played in the NBA. He was in SLAM magazine. But he was ridicoulously smart, 4.0 GPA, pre-med student. When he left the NBA, he went to medical school!
I don't know what Candace Parker's major was, but apparently she also got a 4.0GPA as well ! Smart and pretty =).

98% of college to pro athletes didn't earn their degree and yes I made up that percentage.
although, I do believe Okafor is a smart dude.
let's not be naive.

Or you could get one of the millions of jobs out there that don't necessarily require a very specific degree.

Shaq has a degree in Bachelor of Arts in General Studies.
And Damon Stoudamire received a degree from the University of Arizona, the same guy who tried to smuggle pot through a metal-detector at an airport by wrapping it in tin foil.

Believe it or not, Josh Howard has a degree from Wake
interesting story...
During his senior year at Glenn High School, Howard was handcuffed outside of a BP gas station the night before his SAT examination. Howard had been loitering on the premises with some of his friends, and undercover cops believing the teenagers had been selling drugs detained them.
In order to get into Wake Forest, Howard needed an SAT score of at least 950. Howard did not get a 950, saying his score was "somewhere in the 500s".

I dont really know what kind of test is SAT, but I know that 500 is pretty bad...

SAT's are tests in literature, science and mathematics. It helps colleges determine your level because high schools are not all equal (believe it or not)., so grades can vary dramatically at school A in comparison to school B.

It's a test you take before entering college. Another similar one is the ACT, it differs state to state on which is used. They aren't required, but heavily preferred to be taken. Colleges use your score in comination with your grades and everything else when deciding to accept you or not.
And 500 is RIDICULOUSLY low. Josh Howard must be mentally challenged, and I'm serious.

In california, any University (including State University's) require the SAT.

And 500 on the SAT? :oldlol: I've never heard of anybody actually scoring that low. Probably because anybody that knows they are that dumb already know they are not going to college.

You can't have a 500 on the SAT and play college ball.NCAA Clearinghouse states you have to have at least an 820 math/ verbal combined

Plenty of guys in the NBA have college degrees. Even players that got drafted out of high school have went to college in the summers to earn degrees.

Devin Harris is finishing school in the summer to get a degree. He needs about 100 something credits to finish.

David Robinson may be the smartest guy in the history of the NBA:
Robinson scored a 1320 on the SAT, and he chose to go to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he majored in mathematics.

Devin Harris did not score in the 500's he wouldn't be eligible under the NCAA no matter how high his GPA was. (I believe it's a sliding scale, higher GPA means you can afford a lower SAT score).

That means he has taken like... 4 courses... Over a time period of how many years?
Anyways, I'm not sure why you guys are surprised that Josh Howard had a low SAT score. The guy is dumb on and off the court anyways.

Okay, because I have a friend who wrote it up here in Canada because he was considering universities in the States and he got a 1925 or something around that.
The only reason I say this is because in movies and on
TV it always seems a genius is portrayed as someone who got an SAT mark of 1500 or something, which doesn't seem right to me.
Like in the movie 21, the kid is supposed to be a genius who got a 1475 on the SAT...?

Granger would have taken it, and pretty much every player discussed here, when a perfect score would have been 1600. I'm not sure how they do it now, but I know the perfect score is much higher, I think they added a section.

a lot of colleges still only view the sat out of 1600 points because the writing section is so subjectively graded.
