1987 Alvin Robertson was picked All Defensive 1st Team.
1987 Dennis Johnson was picked All Defensive 1st Team.
Isnt Defensive History creating 100+ blks/200+ steals first ever enough for All-D
IMO, MJ should've had 10 All-Defensive FIRST team honors.
he was clearly robbed here not being a Laker or a Celtic.
33 YO Dennis Johnson with...

Is it just me or is Ernie kinda being selfish in staying with TNT only and basically forcing the show to end. I don't get why people are mad at NBC or Amazon.
The Inside guys have more than enough sway that they could go to NBC and insist that NBC continue the show as is and keep all the same people employed and probably even keep the show in...

During the season, there are only a couple of teams I watch because I like how they play - mainly Denver and Sacramento. I don’t like watching heavy ISO, or stagnant offenses, which is frankly most of the league. Once they are out, I will pick who to root for based on who is left and how they are playing. Don’t care much about the East, but...

I hate that TNT is being pushed out. TNT peaked a long time ago but they still remain the most authentically basketball minded product out there. Every other network has this cold corporate presentation, or low IQ/'hot take' format (Kendrick perkins, SAS etc). ESPN/ABC's coverage is appalling. Who knows what NBC and Amazon are gonna look like...

Today's best fall short of previous era's best because the unspaced, physical eras was a tougher format that produced better players.
The unspaced, physical format required better basketball instinct, touch and pure scoring ability than today's spaced-out, hands-off, open paint, beginner format
So better players were produced..
Today's...

I think that it's great that we're getting a new champion.
I want Minnesota to win. For defense and Rudy. I also think Minnesota will win.

Penny Hardaway was an All-Star and in the NBA Finals when he was roughly the same age as Anthony Edwards too, I mean this stuff doesn't really mean that much, some guys are able to be on better teams earlier in their careers than others, that's just basically the luck of the draw, doesn't tell you much more than that.
Wolves were underrated...

DB is fine. You guys default to misogyny too easily. Van Gundy sucks. Dude would go off on tangents completely unrelated to the game. It was funny initially but it got the point where there would be competitive action on the court and JVG would be talking about microwave TV dinners or something. I like that DB is actually engaged in the...

It is pretty much the entire league. It’s just a matter of barely doing it or doing it so egregiously you clearly don’t give a ****. But nobody can come in here and say their favorite player plays legally. But some get the extra attention for being ***** about it. Harden for a long time. Ja Morant briefly before he basically disappeared. I think...

He's been great scoring in the post this season.
He doesn't have to be relied on to be a go-to option, so it's worked out for him this season. If you're expecting him to be a first or second option like has been forced to in that past, that's when you run into issues.

I never had a problem with Breen, Van Gundy, and Jackson myself. I enjoyed that trio. I knew once they split them up, it was going to be a disaster. Breen, JJ and Doris doing the Finals just isn't going to hit the same.

I made a thread (or maybe just a thread comment) at the beginning of the year about how Haliburton egregiously travels and carries all the time. Literally all game.
Even for this "newer age gather step" bullshit, Haliburton is really bad with traveling/carrying.
I find the guy pretty overrated.

really riding the timberwolves wave rn. their energy is contagious. love that they play good defense and are resilient. folks around here hate rudy gobert bc they like to troll xaio, but i have no issue with his game. i always thought of KAT as being soft but since AE came around, he's playing through contact more and more. AE has that smug...

Appears it’s all decided and being signed off on this week .ESPN and NBC are going to pay even more than was initially reported. Amazon is going to be paying more than TNT has been paying to get nothing but the play in tournament, in season tournament, a first round series, some WNBA games and some international rights. NBC is going to start...

You will have success this year. :-)
I'd like to have a backup plan. For many years I wanted to teams in the Finals: the 76ers and the Nuggets. As of now it doesn't seem like happening next year. It may but the odds are quite low. I need something else. I haven't watched much of Dallas so I'll observe. Luka ball was not something I liked...

40-45% is average 3 shooters? Hayward was an all star. Hill looked like one until he hurt his toe. Conley and Gobert were the top 2 man tandem in the league and an all star. Oneale playing both sides at 3 positions and hustling defending, rebounding and shooting. Ingles shoo ting defense p nr. You act like p nr is a bad thing. Dunk good look by...

i wouldn’t single haliburton out. tons of players shuffle their feat while setting up for the thre and also palm the hell out of the ball.
then there is the gather step which somehow turns into 4 steps
it is what it is. i’ve personally stopped caring about it quite awhile ago. as long as they call it consistently for both sides I don’t have...

i’m guessing they do but don’t care. What’s crazy to me is if he did that at home and the refs called it the fans will start chanting that the refs suck. People legitimately see calling even egregious ones as refs trying to take over the game. And a lot of young fans see it as trying to limit creativity and take the game backwards.

ESPN's dumbest decision with NBA coverage they've ever made. To not only remove JVG, but to have no decent replacement for him either.
The Atlantic had a great article on how much ESPN could use him right now. I was really hoping TNT would find a way to get him but that may not matter now with TNT possibly losing rights.
If NBC locks in and...
