Jokic was treated like Draymond Green at the 3 point line at a home in a game 7, and he completely failed. Anyone that gets disrepected offensively like that is not in any conversation for GOAT offensive player. Steph being a danger from so far out breaks the defensive line entirely (teams have to move up, adding more space to the other four...

Yeah, no great player is carrying a team to an NBA championship by themselves. That goes without saying. He also clearly has been their best player the entire run. Like not even a contest. Denver had to send waves at him just to take the ball out of his hands, and he still distributed well, and played great defense, even in a tough shooting...

He's certainly carrying the team. Over 10ppg greater than the next-best scoring teammate. Ergo, he is carrying the scoring load and defeating maximum defensive attention.

I heard Cowherd say "Ant just needs his Pippen to help him on his off-shooting nights", except that's exactly what KAT, McDaniels and Gobert did in Game 7 - they saved the team from his bed-wetting.. So he already has a few Pippen's plus Conley and others - he has more help than MJ ever had. People will see that Ant is just another short guard...

Ant played a good game despite the stats. He was a factor on the court because he was contributing in other ways than just scoring. Ant isn't carrying the Wolves but this is his team. Minny was soft and boring for years but now they are fierce and confident. Arrogant, even. Fearless. KAT looks different. Gobert looks different. They've...

There lies your fallacy. Gobert has no gravity around the rim. He isn't Shaq. He doesn't need hard doubles. When he scores he scores. The opponent just doesn't care. It's nice that he sets screens. So did Bogut or Luc Longley or whoever. Setting screens and rolling to the basketball while two guys crumble to hard hedge on the ball handler doesn't...

Huh? What does Curry do offensively (besides run a round off of screens) that makes him so much better? Jokic is very confident shooting anywhere from 27ft or closer and has a MUCH better midrange game than Curry. Plus Curry doesn't come close to Joker's offensive rebounding capabilities.

The Nuggets have only been title contenders for the last two years. In that time they have played 6 playoff series, not 13. The graph includes the prior two seasons when Murray didn't even play in the playoffs, but Jokic did. That was 3 series, not 1. It also includes the bubble when they didn't have Gordon, Jokic was fat and not a MVP...

Yep players need other players around them in a tram sport. Mitchell could have been goberts stockton but he wasnt. Conley, hill and ingles were while mitchell played iso and saved humself on d. What is not to get? You build around your best player which they did very briefly. Mitchell didnt fit with Gobert and the jazz have never had foresight....

It's an interesting comparison. Just took a look at the denver title run last year and realized that they faced sub-50 win teams throughout the playoffs, if that could imply anything. But two years ago saw GS facing more shorthanded teams (mpj & murray for denver, morant for memphis and tatum with undisclosed wrist injury for boston) en route to...

My point is not to trash Jokic. It's simply to call out that he needs more to cement himself. The notion that if he retired today he'd be in anyone's top 10 list is totally absurd

By this logic Nash has more MVPs than most of the guys in his "era". Shaq, Kobe, Garnett, Dirk, Wade, etc. Nobody considers him better than any of those guys in all- time rankings.

I really don't get you. Every Gobert needs a Mitchell et vice versa. That's way teams are built. Just happens that Ant is a better version of the Mitchell type players. The reality is that neither 5 Mitchells nor 5 Goberts can win. Where the nuances come in is when you act like Gobert is something he is not. He is no ATG offensive player....

Yep I noticed that as well. When the new generation comes, its like they come all at once. OKC and Shai #1 in West, Tatum/Brown #1 in East. Ant establishing himself as the best 2 way player in the game. Luka's just 25 and coming into his own as a team player. Pacers and Halliburton make it to conf. finals. The old guard didn't make it to...

For his playoff career, Gobert has more turnovers (76) than assists (99). He has had more turnovers than assists in 6 out of his 8 years making the playoffs (including this year), and has never beaten the split by more than 2 total. Yes, this season and last year are career highs with 2.0 assists per game in 2023 and 1.7 assists in 2024. But,...
