Because it was probably the most undeserved ROY the award of our lifetimes.

think the rest edge boston has will be a factor. some of the last few champions like denver, gs, lakers were the less tested(mil/phx equally tested imo toronto more tested in 2019 but you know kd injuries). Those teams played with more urgency than boston however and mavs will have enough rest pre finals.

Seriously, who gives a FVCK about rookie of the year :lol While not surprising, I find it funny how this is literally the only rookie of the year selection that EVER gets brought up.

Having talent and making the most of that talent are two different things. Boston clearly has the most talent in the league, and playing in the weak east has certainly helped their record.
Using their record as if it somehow refutes their lack of urgency/execution isn't going to sway anyone's opinion.

Melo had an argument for deserving it but it was obvious to everyone that James was going to be the better player and the perception of his talent won it.

The team performance doesn’t really matter. Denver added Andre Miller and got Camby back from the year before so obviously that looks better.
Could you make a decent argument for Melo? Sure. But it was pretty much a toss up and Lebron was probably the better player. In that case of course it’s going to go to him.
Melo wasn’t done dirty.

I constantly forget that this is the worst 64 win team of all l time. All of these teams that lose more games are clearly better.

Melo played all 82 games unlike LBJ
Denver made it to Playoffs 8th spot (tougher Western Conf) unlike Cavs (missed playoffs in weaker conference)
Melo shot better too marginally. Won more games in tougher conf. Melo's 43 games to LBJ's 35 games.
Nuggets did not get swept either. went down 1-4.
Was Rookie Melo done dirty at age 19?

I keep telling y’all 2 rings validate you in the nba….this is not the NFL. Winning two rings in the nba proves it’s not a fluke. The 80’s Sixers are not looked at the same as the other champions of the 80’s. It’s just facts! N no this is not about jokic….every post I make isn’t a coded shot at jokic…. 04 pistons, 11 mavs, 19 raptors and 08 Celtics...

And we would be right, but being tested and lacking urgency are two different issues. A team can play with urgency even when they aren't being tested.
A lot of success in the NBA is from building good habits. Dallas played with urgency over the last two months of the season. They were the best defense over that time. Even Luka and Kyrie were...

"Lacked urgency" is the kind of thing you say when you don't really know what you're trying to criticize a team for. Sure Tatum hasn't hit threes. He's also averaged 26 points 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the playoffs while routinely guarding the opposing center in Porzingis absence. The fact of the matter is that the Celtics regularly blew out...

if that's true, I havent looked it up, and it is really the only relevant info available at the time, yes that's not a far fetched recommendation to put forth. and IMO the affect of masking is overblown - we have dedicated professionals in them for hours at a time who have no impact, yet it somehow is a complication because it being mandated for...

You just can't see it with rose colored glasses on. They have lacked urgency consistently and frequently settle for quick jumpers off the dribble.
Tatums 29% shooting from 3 in the playoffs isn't just a slump. A lot of it is bad shot selection, taking too many jumpers off the dribble. He has always loved his jumper but frequently the basket...

Yes. that was also a game 1.
when players do it in game 1. thats lot more clutch than game 3 or 4. as you are now use to defenses.
Game 1 is when teams are 0-0 and HCA must be protected or entire season you worked for that HCA is gone.
Also, Siakem defense was steller. he could've easily "touch" fouled JB give him a game winning 4 point...

You can only play the team in front of you. First round the Celtics four wins were all by 14 or more. Second round 3 of 4 wins were by 13+. You complain that they aren't clutch and then they show that they can perform in the clutch while sweeping Indy. If you ignore the games where the opponent didn't have their best player They went 2-1 vs...

The 6ft social distancing decision was based on a 1918 influenza outbreak. You think that's the way of going about making a claim that would affect hundreds of thousands of people? Service members getting kicked out for not getting vaccinated. It was basically fear mongering that your health will be in jeopardy if you don't get vaccinated. You...

I’m gonna go with Dallas.
I think Boston has had too much time coasting vs poor opponents. They havnt been tested in along time. Porzing is a question mark still as far as i’m concerned. Celtics hit a lot of 3’s but the rim can shrink in times like these. If Celtics aren’t hitting a lot of threes and it comes down to tight games in closing...
