Well he did have a shit ton of turnovers.
Nobody's gonna stop Luka from getting his points. JB did a very admirable job overall of limiting Doncic's efficiency and forcing turnovers.
That said, Luka and the Mavs are a particularly useful matchup for his man to man defense to shine. If they were playing against the Sixers for instance, or...

What idiot on planet Earth is trying to make a case that Jaylen Brown is in the discussion of the best player in the league?
Please point them out so we can laugh.
Throw my opinion into the trash then. Nonetheless, facts are facts though. 33rd out of 40 f-cking years of Finals MVPs. The NBA has only been around for 76. That's over half. If...

The guy on skates averaged 10 more points in basically a 1 man offense and still couldn't be shut down playing on 1 knee. Again, slow down there bucko.
Brown is a basic good player. Not great at all.

Ok this thread is now officially Payton Pritchard vs Brandon Ingram debate. Serious replies only please. I'll start.
Payton Pritchard is a special kind of clutch, hitting the two biggest shots of the finals this year. ...

He was good for 15/10 and guarded the best big man and protected the paint every night.
I believe only Moses had more rebounds in the 80's.

Just like the Celtics were a bad matchup for Mavs this finals I think the Raptors are a bad matchup for the Celtics of this year.
The Raptors that year was as close to the Spurs style of play that I have seen since the '14 version on offense and defensively they were excellent too. The matchups are tough for the Celtics here.
Brown is a...

At his peak, he best demonstrated it when he played with scrubs and the gap between him and the next best player on his team is huge. But put him in dynasty teams like the spurs or the warriors in 00s and 10s with reliable, star teammates? His numbers could dip down a bit.

People played at least three years of college ball for most of NBA history, and among players in the 1-and-done era Tatum had the good fortune of being drafted to a well constructed team that quickly became a playoff fixture. So it's really not surprising, nor particularly meaningful.
I agree however that the way ESPN decides to rate him is...

Lebron's last ring was at 35.
Duncan won a ring at 37.
Horford at 38.
Kareem at 40.
Lebron hasn't been able to take a backseat and be an elite role player. He still tries to be the man. Honestly, in my book of the greatest, I am beginning to rank the ability to contribute as a role player.
