You are a mod. If I, as a regular poster, conducted myself on this forum as you do I'd have been permabanned. There's permabanned accounts on this forum less annoying and invasive to the experience of posting here than you. So your perpetually 'spam threads, get banned, spam threads, get banned' schtick is all bullshit.

MJ had all-star teammates from his sohpomore season on actually. Couldn't start winning until Big Papa Pippen showed up.

Great thread OP. How many pages worth of attention we gonna give this one, ISH brethren? Anything under 10 would be disappointing.

I completely agree about the Curry thing and I think her STYLE of play is the foremost requisite factor. It’s different than what people are used to and that draws attention. Same-old-same-old doesnt draw eyeballs even if it’s very effective, a la those dynasty Spurs ratings that were always in the dumper. Theyre prolly getting more views winning...

People think that Magic played Center only, but in fact he repped LA for the tip-off then played mostly Forward and Guard.

Some don't even realize that Jamal Wilkes put up 37 and 10 in game 6 They just see Magic's point total and believe...

This was very interesting when I found out about it. 1981 was before my time but the whole “rookie magic playing center and winning the finals and mvp” was always a big time basketball legend.
I will say even that being said it shouldn’t really detract away from Magic’s performance. But it does show the power of narratives.
Another...

Lebron had no chance in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2019, 2022
The only time he had good team was when he teamed up with opposing franchise players or his organic juggernauts in 09' and 10'... otherwise, he didn't lift shit and had crap teams

What I found interesting was that Kareem was actually voted to win the 1980 FMVP AFTER Magic's great game 6 but because Kareem was not present, the voters were asked to change their votes so Magic would win the award. This is covered in the book titled "Kareem" pages 104-141. Or you can google Bill Livingston and the 1981 FMVP vote to read what...

You guys are all casuals because you never never played against any NBA players at a college level or higher
Most people on here are nerds that never played and didn't even like basketball until around 2009 when a bunch of math geeks tried to solve the game with numbers, aka PER, etc
Or they started watching around 2015 when Curry's 3ball...

So Clark = Bird now?
That's how delusional you are about your latest great white hype.
And comparing Clark to Bird makes it about race - indeed it's all about race - she's only getting inflated and compared to Bird because she's white

Don't expect to know for sure until he is either put into the game or gets the DNP. The injury has never been managed in the NBA before. We did see Curt Schilling deal with it years ago in the World Series but as a pitcher he had a lot more control over how much he had to move. Running up and down the floor and playing defense Porzingis is at a...

A meaningless of fact
Otoh, only MJ was unbeatable the instant he got an all-star teammate
while everyone else needed many all-stars and still won much less
And the all-star teammate Jordan got was outside of the top 100 in PER, while everyone else won much less with top 30 PER teammates

It's amusing to me that Barkley's made more money talking about basketball than he has playing it. Though I guess it could also be said MJ's made more money selling basketball apparel than playing basketball.

Lebron could never win MVP averaging 15 PPG but Nash did - can anyone explain that???...
why a 15 PPG player with garbage stats and not even the best on his own team win MVP?

She would be just another good player if she was black because all the young white girls that are fans of hers wouldn't be.... And black girls are more mature than to worship an athlete.. they prefer a singer then an athlete

all there arguments are strawmans.
they are looking at stats mostly. Bird was a hybrid player. we dont clearly knows he is a pass first or score first player. the way players around him got better and the way he collected 10 APG in the era when "assists" were not counted as easily as today.
Bird was bit of both. all I saw was Bird push the...

I've noticed that in the past, whenever I've stopped bullying Axe, he follows it up by doing things to try and get my attention. But this time, instead of seeing post from Axe trying to get my attention, what followed was a significan spike in the mentioning of my name by both highwhey and Lakers32. highwhey even created a thread about me. I mean,...

"glazed over choking look"?? Did you see the 4th quarter of game 6?? Bird in game 1 of this series had 18 points and 21 rebounds and in game 2 had 19 points and 21 rebounds again. Robert Reid was Houston's best defender and his assignment was Bird. Moses was a rebounding force and Boston needed a way to neutralize and combat Moses. Bird in game 3...

Lets not forget the 1981 FMVP should have been Bird rather than Maxwell. Bird outplayed Maxwell in games 1,2, and 6. Maxwell outplayed Bird in games 4 and 5. So lets take a look at game 3 = a 23 point blowout win for Boston. Maxwell had 19 points, 10 rebounds and zero assists. Bird had 8 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. IMO this game...
