7:29.
Under the real rules.
Basically saying that the rule changes have made it easier to look good on offense.

1. Luka leads both teams in steals.
2. Kyrie has been shooting an abysmal 43%
3. Kristaps was big in game 1, JRue was big in game 2, Luka fouled out in game 3. Mavs have no support crew to speak about.
If anything, Luka is the best player overall on this series.

The sad thing is hes not even hurt. He’s not in pain, he’s able to play. He wants to play.
Theyre not letting him play in the NBA FINALS because some “imaging” done on his leg suggests something *could* happen if he plays. So theyre gonna sit him in the NBA Finals to make sure hes ready to play next November 14th against the Rockets. Thats the...

we need loma vs tank. i think tank knocks him down multiple times and maybe stops him. great night of boxing. hopefully, canelo grows some nuts and fights David. David would get knocked out cold vs beterbiev (if he is the same after the knee injury) David would beat bivol. Canelo would beat crawford.
David vs canelo should be next cause it...

I had a similar issue a few years ago, before Alpha Zero, around 2020, when the term "AI" was being thrown around nonstop for any regular computer related thing. The industry was using it as a marketing buzzword, and soon after NPC types started using it. I remember a particular YouTuber referring to the YouTube ranking algorithm as "the AI...

but yes, i do miss seeing it. it doesn't seem to be an analytic's favorite method of scoring but i feel like that's a blindspot that math can't see. you should ideally be skilled enough to attempt gaining any advantage in scoring. it's ridiculous seeing bigger guards not attempting it on smaller/weaker defenders.

Two deep playoff runs worth of watching Mark Jackson bullying his defender forced the Nba to change the rules. Funny thing is that the Pacers actually made the Nba Finals the season it was implemented.

My understanding of the Gather is that the player has to have full control of the ball before the dribble has ended. From that point, they can take two steps. Often when dribbling you are moving your feet, so you are still moving your feet when the ball is bouncing up from the floor into your hands. The Gather is complete when you have enough...

I'm not sure. I think you're old enough to remember those days. Do you recall Kareem being at the head? I honestly don't recall it. From what I know, Russell was at the head of everyone's list up until the Magic/Bird era.
The only other player who I could recall being above any of them was Oscar and that was because other players were...

Can relate to that. And asking "How come I've never heard of before??!". They also do the opposite, a good player making a single mistake, and saying "This person shouldn't be in the league" / "Should retire" etc.
Entertainment bias. Stuff's that's obvious they process and overvalue. Sadly, seemingly everyone in the game has that...

"All they do is shoot threes"
"Players should be loyal to their teams!" - It's almost always Jordan and Kobe stans who say this. I mean, yeah. But nobody in their right mind stays in a working environment they are unhappy in and know it's time for a change.
"NBA is just like WWF" - pretty sure tpols believes this in a literal sense...

The reason for defining the gather step in the NBA was to get out of calling traveling. It just looked bad with the referees ignoring dozens of blatant travels so they added language so you couldn’t say it was traveling anymore. It’s still traveling in the extreme vast majority of basketball ever played and the basketball played right now. Most...

acting like a player is great bc they're having a good game but their body of work is complete garbage aka the bradley beals of the world.
being in awe of cheap tricks like draining 3s from the logo but they can't play a lick of defense and are in fact a liability in that and other important aspects that are conducive to winning...shit, i could...

1. Barking at people who miss free throws
This fan assumes free throws are the true test of basketball greatness. While FT's matter, they are All-Important to the Casual Fan.
2. Acting unimpressed by great plays
The casual fan doesn't know what's difficult to do, and what's not. So they act unimpressed by it all, as if this suggests...

What's the status on Porizingis? Is he out of the finals, day-to-day or confirmed to be back? Boston was a net rating of 0 in the first games when he was off the court, completely changes the dynamic of the team. Shame he's so injury prone.

My point wasn't that the '96 Sonics > '24 Celtics. I responded to your point about the '96 Magic being the best opponent. As for Grant, then keep in mind his injury came in game 1, but people forget Chicago was already up by 20 in the 3rd quarter. That series was a wash with or without him.
Hersey averaging 16 PPG was more of being a 4th...
