Oh well Luka’s definitely not gonna even try to consistently pick up Edwards on the other end, so we dont even need to worry bout that part of it :lol

I know Luka would badly dominate that matchup when Ant is trying to guard him, but Luka would need a lot of help on the other end too.
Regardless, could Minnesnowta afford that scenario any more than they can afford Kyrie cooking ant and leaving Ant gassed in the 4th ?

Yet the 2020 Lakers had the #1 seed and won the title while being one of the worst 3PT shooting teams in the league. No one respected their role players from deep. They won with size and defense. Those Shaq & Kobe teams would be living at the FT line and their defense & rebounding would offset the advantage that GS would have from 3.
That 2016...

Yeah, I think the biggest thing is Gafford really cannot handle the basketball even for a moment. He’s great with lobs and rebounds and blocking shots, but hes super uncomfortable with the ball in his hands. Lively is actually similar, but slightly less clumsy with the basketball and that reduces the frequency of gaffes they have.

Mavericks have a real roster finally.
They don’t need anyone to ‘give’ them anything.
Might fk around and beat an overrated 95% Tatum, an 100% Brown, and 80% Porzingis.

Itd be cool to see from a fan standpoint and I understand Edwards play with alot of heart on D, but itd be suicide for Minny. You cant give up 4 inches and 40 pounds on a guy like Luka who’s already skilled enough to dice guys his own size.

It happened again. Lively a game high +19. Everytime he's in the game Dallas is winning. He can guard the rim, board, and can actually switch on Ant or anybody for that matter.

I'm sure the series isn't going to play out like this, but sure seems like Kidd got the best of figuring this out.

The few times he did that in this game Luka had 0 problems taking Ant to the rim, he even spun around him on one of those plays. He can shoot over Ant & McDaniels no problem.

Yeah, and Wolves are lucky af that the Mavs don't have Kleber for this series, or the Mavs would be feasting on offense. Toody will have more impact in this series because the Mavs have a non-shooting big out there which allows him to defend closer to the basket and make it harder for Luka/Kyrie to get to the rim.
They left McDaniels open by...

I personally would like to see Edwards switch to Luka, since we would get at least ONE really great, high stakes conference finals matchup, of two perennial all-stars 25&under. Ain’t often we get that kind of show.

Single game +/- can be very misleading due to sub patterns but it's obvious from watching games that Rudy's defense is far more important than Reid's offense. The 5-10 extra points he might score due to his shooting ability mean nothing when the opposing team is constantly getting buckets in the paint to offset whatever he's doing on offense. Reid...

kyrie would shoot 68%FG against Conley, and still get 8 assists after the doubles.

Dallas was taking that away tho. They have length, they were doubling. These are complex defensive schemes nowadays, it’s not 1 on 1 vs Craig Ehlo.
Luka’s like 4 inches taller than Edwards, it’s just easier for him to go to the midrange and get a shot off.

Dallas defense is much better than denvers. They actually have 7 foot shot blockers and PJ or DJJ can switch everything. The only thing they have to shore up is Luka not leaving mcdaniels open.

I want to know if you believe that his production would be still elite if he had to score 30+ a game with the limited offensive skillset he has.
I don't think it's that hard to get. Obviously the Jazz could win with him scoring his usual 12-13ppg. That's why I created that hypothetical.
