This is true but he did not look good in the post during the couple games he played to start the playoffs. Couldnt get a basket over Tyler Herro. Forget about Bam Adebayo. Not sure if that was an anomaly or due to a change in how the playoffs are played. He isnt really a natural, fluid post player despite the good metrics there this season.

I have to agree. Doris isn't terrible. But she is absolutely not a #1 national broadcast level analyst. (neither is JJ, for that matter). And that's not gender-bias talking. Mary Carillo was absolutely a #1 level broadcast analyst for men's tennis. Had no problem with her. But Doris isn't at that level.
They seem more like a #3 team than...
Lmao, who gives a fvck about an All-Defensive snub from almost 40 years ago. I think Jordan’s career turned out well enough you can let such a meaningless instance go.
All defensive awards are pretty meaningless. The voters never relied on hard data or anything to quantify the best defenders. Also the all-defensive awards should pretty much be exclusively big men if we are actually considering the players with the most defensive impact. But guards were voted on because of the position requirement.
Yeah Hakeem had a bit of a weird career, beat the 86 Lakers to get to the Finals early in his career, but had a lull there before winning back to back in 94-95.
If the implication is Hakeem is overrated, wasn't actually good, etc. etc. sorry but I can't agree. I think he just had poor teams for a good stretch there.
He's still 1 on 1 the...
A 22 year old Jordan knockoff beat the reigning 3 time mvp at the peak of his powers#nopippen.....Thread checks out.
you know how people say "no diddy"? welll for now on im saying "no pippen" to jokic fans to humble them on here
said this last year but denver could've drafted herbert jones instead of bones hyland
and they could've traded for caruso
both would improve their bench and they could use a 7 man rotation in the playoffs
JVG's tangents were always kinda over-sensationalized, there's a difference between making some jokes during a dead ball in the 3rd quarter vs veering off topic in a close game late in the 4th. As for DB ("Big Clit Doris"), it's got nothing to do with misogony, she's "fine" and does the job but she is certainly not A team material. This is like...
1987 Alvin Robertson was picked All Defensive 1st Team.
1987 Dennis Johnson was picked All Defensive 1st Team.
Isnt Defensive History creating 100+ blks/200+ steals first ever enough for All-D
IMO, MJ should've had 10 All-Defensive FIRST team honors.
he was clearly robbed here not being a Laker or a Celtic.
33 YO Dennis Johnson with...
Is it just me or is Ernie kinda being selfish in staying with TNT only and basically forcing the show to end. I don't get why people are mad at NBC or Amazon.
The Inside guys have more than enough sway that they could go to NBC and insist that NBC continue the show as is and keep all the same people employed and probably even keep the show in...
During the season, there are only a couple of teams I watch because I like how they play - mainly Denver and Sacramento. I don’t like watching heavy ISO, or stagnant offenses, which is frankly most of the league. Once they are out, I will pick who to root for based on who is left and how they are playing. Don’t care much about the East, but...
I hate that TNT is being pushed out. TNT peaked a long time ago but they still remain the most authentically basketball minded product out there. Every other network has this cold corporate presentation, or low IQ/'hot take' format (Kendrick perkins, SAS etc). ESPN/ABC's coverage is appalling. Who knows what NBC and Amazon are gonna look like...
Today's best fall short of previous era's best because the unspaced, physical eras was a tougher format that produced better players.
The unspaced, physical format required better basketball instinct, touch and pure scoring ability than today's spaced-out, hands-off, open paint, beginner format
So better players were produced..
Today's...
Penny Hardaway was an All-Star and in the NBA Finals when he was roughly the same age as Anthony Edwards too, I mean this stuff doesn't really mean that much, some guys are able to be on better teams earlier in their careers than others, that's just basically the luck of the draw, doesn't tell you much more than that.
Wolves were underrated...
DB is fine. You guys default to misogyny too easily. Van Gundy sucks. Dude would go off on tangents completely unrelated to the game. It was funny initially but it got the point where there would be competitive action on the court and JVG would be talking about microwave TV dinners or something. I like that DB is actually engaged in the...
It is pretty much the entire league. It’s just a matter of barely doing it or doing it so egregiously you clearly don’t give a ****. But nobody can come in here and say their favorite player plays legally. But some get the extra attention for being ***** about it. Harden for a long time. Ja Morant briefly before he basically disappeared. I think...
He's been great scoring in the post this season.
He doesn't have to be relied on to be a go-to option, so it's worked out for him this season. If you're expecting him to be a first or second option like has been forced to in that past, that's when you run into issues.
I never had a problem with Breen, Van Gundy, and Jackson myself. I enjoyed that trio. I knew once they split them up, it was going to be a disaster. Breen, JJ and Doris doing the Finals just isn't going to hit the same.
