Edwards just won a game 7 on the road against the Champs where his teammates contributed 82 points on 61 TS and he himself scored 16 on 32 TS.... Let me repeat, 16 on 32 TS..... And his team won.
Jordan couldn't play like that as a 22 year old and win. His team sucked in comparison.

Modern players would get absolutely obliterated for having Larry Bird's playoff failures. Fans just didn't have the access to information and stats and players weren't put under a microscope like they are today; which is why past players are mythologized so. And I'm not trying to say Bird isn't an all time great. He absolutely was, I just think...

His best one was 42/5/0 on 18/33 shooting... but they lost so that performance is shit, if we want to be consistent.

Mainly because the Lakers had shot happy pass second chucker Van Exel and rookie Derek Fisher at point.
Plus Shaq was just coming back from a knee injury.

Meh. Jokic could still win one or two more titles and end up on the Larry Bird their. While playing a completely different style or brand of basketball, right now, the trajectory of his career is not much worse than the first decade of Wilt's or Kareem's. Without doing much evaluation, he is already on the Moses Malone level which places him...

Lebron would get absolutely crucified, but I think most- even the biggest Jokic fans- will admit Lebron was better peak vs peak so it's hard to count that one. But Kobe was more of a Hardenesque elimination game performer.

A great offensive talent should be able to keep a team from overcoming a 20 point deficit in less than 12 minutes. A great offensive talent should know how to manufacture points either for himself or his teammates in a way to stave off a collapse like that at home in the biggest game of the entire season. It's not just what he scores or assists...

I think the notion if him not caring is incorrect. We will see how he comes back next season. He is under 30 and should show no sign of decline due to age. And I think he is a competitor despite his laid-back nature. So I expect him to come back playing a bit different next year. I don't know what the change will be. If it's only one guess that I...

Celtics in 5. Indy has the worst defense of any playoff team . They will have one game where they can’t miss.

It’s hard to try to add anything to someone this good without fear of taking something away. We can try to get more stamina on him, but what if that drops him 30 lbs and he becomes 80% of what he used to be on that block? Make him care more. But maybe him racing horses and truly taking summers off is what gets him ready for the coming season. If...

but no need to steep to this level. It's alright... you'll cope. Father time heals all.

They're drafting too late to be able to pick up Bronny. He's going #1 to the Hawks.

I’ve said this before. Draft Bronny and make clear behind the scenes that he will spend eternity in the D league unless Bron agrees to sign as a free agent, on the understanding that Bron comes off the bench to lead the bench + Joker minutes, and then the bench + Murray minutes. If he does that, he gets to play with his kid in the NBA.

Before the game I said multiple times that for Denver to win, Jokic needs to have a big rebounding game with 10+ assists. In the first half he had 15 and 5, and Denver was comfortably winning. In the game thread (3rdQ) I mentioned that the rebounding game is now in the Wolves' favor and it's not looking good. Jokic had 4 rebounds in the second...

There’s a precedent. A team with KCP as a key role player underperforms after winning a championship. The obvious thing to do is put together a package, including KCP and MPJ and whatever else it takes to trade for Westbrook.

It definitely showed that he has some weaknesses in his game. He's not a good defender nor a great 3PT shooter. They were leaving him open from 3 and he settled for those. Obviously you could be reasonable and say that he had nothing left in the tank, and that the coach should have rested him when they had a big lead before Minny made their run,...

That's all they could do, complain about the way he won and pray the next guy was the one to best him.
My comeuppance lasted a while as a Rockets fan watching both the Spurs and Mavs win titles while we weren't lol.

First off, it’s a team game. The credit and the fault goes to the team, not to any individual.
Here are the main issues I saw: with everything on the line, there was a complete lack of trust in Denver’s bench. Maybe this was warranted, but it made fatigue a greater factor against a younger, more athletic, and less dinged up team.
The...

Big part of that is how they carried themselves. They all at some point declared themselves greatest in the game or something similar. Of course they will be held accountable, while Jokic basically said the NBA is a job for him.
Being a great offensive talent also doesn't compensate for a team that can't defend a 20 pt lead. What should he do?...
