- 2004-05 season was Bob Weiss’ 38th in the NBA and his 26th as a coach
- Bob Weiss was named head coach of Seattle on July 18, 2005
- Weiss was a player on the original 1967 Sonics roster
- Sonics got him as a player from Philadelphia in Seattle’s expansion draft
- he joined the Sonics as an assistant coach on Nov. 17, 1994.
- Bob Weiss was drafted by the 76ers as the 21st overall pick of the 1965 NBA Draft after averaging 16.3 points per game his senior year at Penn State
- he played 12 years in the NBA and was a member of nine playoff teams, including 1966-67 NBA Champion Philadelphia 76ers.
- Bob Weiss retired as a player in 1977
- began coaching career as an assistant with the Buffalo Braves. He spent two years with the Braves (including one year in San Diego where the franchise moved).
- in 1980, Bob Weiss joined expansion Dallas Mavericks as assistant under Dick Motta for six seasons before getting first head-coaching job with San Antonio Spurs.
- spent two seasons with the Spurs (59-105 record), led the team to playoffs in 1988
- Bob Weiss coached one season as an assistant with the expansion Orlando Magic before returning to the head-coaching ranks with the Atlanta Hawks in 1990.
- in three seasons as coach of the Hawks, Weiss registered a record of 124-122 and led Atlanta to two playoff berths
- On July 21, 1993, Bob Weiss was named head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent one year in L.A. before joining Sonics.
- Weiss was born May 7, 1942, in Easton, Penn.
- Weiss graduated from Penn State in 1965 with degree in physical education.
