Clippers sign four players
Los Angeles Clippers News / Sept 30, 2004
The Los Angeles Clippers today announced the signings of four free agents: guard Rick Brunson, forward Terence Morris, forward Marcus Fleming and forward/center Jerry Holman. The deals are probably just for training camp, not the season.
Brunson, a seven-year NBA veteran, averaged 3.0 points and 2.1 assists in 40 games played with the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors during the 2003-04 NBA campaign. Over his career, Brunson has tallied 2.6 points and 1.9 assists in 10.2 minutes per game.
Morris averaged 10.1 points and 6.4 rebounds in seven games played for the Clippers entry in the 2004 Summer Pro League in Long Beach. In addition, Morris tallied 11.4 points and 7.4 rebounds in 46 games played for the Columbus River Dragons (NBDL) during the 2003-04 season. Morris, the 34th overall selection in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, averaged 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds for the Houston Rockets during the 2002-03 campaign. In 68 games played for the Rockets in the 2001-02 season, Morris recorded 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. Morris was also a teammate of Clippers’ forward Chris Wilcox during the 2000-01 season at Maryland, helping lead the Terps to the 2001 Final Four.
In 36 games played with the Huntsville Flight (NBDL) during the 2003-04 campaign, Fleming averaged 8.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 22.7 minutes in 36 games played. Fleming also tallied 14.9 points and 8.0 rebounds in 21 games played for the Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs (USBL) during the 2003-04 season.
Holman, a 6’10” forward/center, tallied 8.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 26 games with the Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs (USBL) last season. Holman also recorded 2.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 14.0 minutes in six games played for the Phoenix Suns entry in the 2004 Rocky Mountain Revue.
