The Los Angeles Clippers today named Jim Eyen, Kim Hughes, Rory White and Neal Meyer as assistant coaches under new head coach Mike Dunleavy.

Eyen, a 12-year veteran NBA assistant coach, comes to the Clippers after having served last season as a scout for the New York Knicks. Eyen originally began his career with the Clippers in 1988, serving as an assistant coach under then head coach Don Casey. The following season, he moved to the Lakers, assisting Pat Riley and was retained when Mike Dunleavy was named Lakers' head coach in 1990. After two seasons with the Lakers, Eyen followed Dunleavy to Milwaukee, where he remained through 1996. In 1997, Eyen again joined Dunleavy, only this time in Portland, where he worked as an assistant through the 2000-01 season.

Hughes joins the Clippers after having served the last five seasons with the Denver Nuggets. Hughes began with the Nuggets in 1998 as Director of Scouting and was subsequently named Director of Player Personnel. He moved to the bench as an assistant coach prior to the start of the 1998-99 campaign. Hughes also spent seven seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, as head scout during the 1997-98 season and as a regional scout during the previous six campaigns.

The 6'11" Hughes, is a veteran of six seasons in the ABA and the NBA, beginning his career with the New York Nets of the ABA in 1975-76. Hughes signed with the Nuggets in 1978 and finished his NBA career in Cleveland in 1981.

Former Clipper player and CBA head coaching veteran Rory White returns to Los Angeles as the third assistant on Dunleavy's bench. White, who was the head coach of the Idaho Stampede (CBA) during the 2002-03 season, had a five-year NBA playing career during which he averaged 7.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 16.7 minutes per game. White's NBA playing career included four seasons with the Clippers (1984-87), after being drafted by the Phoenix Suns (fourth round of 1982 NBA Draft) and playing a partial season with the Milwaukee Bucks (1983).

White's coaching career began in 1998 when he was named assistant coach for the Idaho Stampede (CBA). He remained in that role until he was promoted to head coach of the Stampede during the 2000 campaign. The following season saw White post a league high .708 winning percentage, earning CBA Coach of the Month honors in December and January. White left Idaho in 2001 to serve as head coach for the Fargo-Moorhead Beez (CBA), leading them to the National Conference Playoffs and the second best record in the league (25-15). White returned to the helm of the Stampede prior to the start of last season.

Rounding out the coaching staff is Neal Meyer, who most recently served as an advance scout for the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2001-02 season. Meyer was with the Blazers for five seasons, working in capacities varying from Assistant Coach to video coordinator. Prior to joining the Blazers, Meyer served in a similar capacity with the Denver Nuggets. Meyer got his NBA start when he served as assistant video coordinator for the San Antonio Spurs.
