Boston Celtics sign Will Bynum

The Boston Celtics announced today that the club has signed free agent Will Bynum. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bynum, a 6-0, 185 lb guard played his college basketball at Georgia Tech, where he averaged 9.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in 101 career games. As a senior, Bynum scored a Georgia Tech ACC Tournament record 35 points in the Yellow Jackets’ semifinal victory over North Carolina. He went on to earn first-team All-Tournament honors, averaging 20.7 points over three tournament games. During his junior year, Bynum helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the NCAA Championship game with a last second basket to defeat the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Bynum transferred to Georgia Tech in his junior year after spending two years at the University of Arizona. While at Arizona he played in 39 games and started 11, posting career averages of 6.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Bynum competed on the Celtics 2005 summer league entry in the Vegas Reebok Summer League, averaging 4.2 points to go with 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game in 6 appearances.
