Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Billy King announced today that the Sixers have waived guard Greg Buckner.

Buckner, 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, signed as a free agent with the 76ers on July 25, 2002. In two seasons in Philadelphia, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 17.3 minutes in 128 total games. In his five-year career, the Clemson University product has averaged 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 18.9 minutes per game. Drafted in the second round with the 53rd overall selection of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks, Buckner played three seasons in Dallas before his stint in Philadelphia.
