The Seattle SuperSonics today signed 6-4 guard Rick Brunson, Sonics General Manager Rick Sund announced. As per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

“Rick’s playmaking ability, ball handling skills and size make him a nice compliment for our team,” said Sund. “He is a true point guard and I think he and Luke Ridnour will give us a good tandem at that position.”

Playing for the Los Angeles Clippers last season, Brunson saw action in 80 games, starting 39. He averaged 5.5 points, 5.1 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 24.3 minutes per game. He ranked ninth in the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio and was fourth in the NBA in assists per 48 minutes (10.1).
