Minnesota Timberwolves Broadcast Teams
Timberwolves News | Sept. 30, 2005
The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the broadcast teams for television and radio for the 2005-06 season. Tom Hanneman and Jim Peterson will again be the Wolves’ television announcers and Chad Hartman and Billy McKinney return as the Wolves’ radio announcing team.
"We're excited to have our full broadcast team back for another year," said Timberwolves Vice President of Communications Ted Johnson. "Each one of these guys has a great deal of history with the Timberwolves organization and we know the fans are comfortable with the knowledge that they bring."
The 2005-06 season will be the 17th season of television broadcasts for Hanneman, the team’s play-by-play announcer for all local network broadcasts. He has received nationwide exposure for his talents, most recently being nominated for a regional Emmy for his work in each of the last three seasons.
Peterson, an eight-year NBA player with the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, returns to the Wolves broadcast booth as the television analyst. This season will be his eighth as a member of the Timberwolves Broadcast Team.
Hartman enters his 16th season of broadcasting Timberwolves games. He will provide play-by-play for all radio broadcasts. Hartman has also done play-by-play work for the Minnesota Twins, Vikings and University of Minnesota football and baseball broadcasts.
This season will serve as McKinney’s 28th in the NBA as a player, assistant coach, scout, administrator, or broadcaster and his second as the Timberwolves’ radio analyst. Prior to joining the Timberwolves Broadcast Team, McKinney served as executive vice president of the Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA’s Seattle Storm. Additionally, he partnered with play-by-play announcer Kevin Calabro to provide analysis for all Sonics television and radio broadcasts.
