Earl Boykins signs with Nuggets
The contract is for five years
Cleveland-based sports attorney Mark Termini announced today that his client, Earl Boykins of Cleveland Central Catholic High School, has signed a 5-year, fully-guaranteed $13.7 million dollar contract with the Denver Nuggets.
“I am pleased that Earl has been rewarded for his determination and performance with this commitment from the Nuggets. I know he will fit very well into the high-speed Denver offense. Earl also brings a unique ability to help win games in the 4th quarter, which will be a big asset for this team that has now assembled some exciting young talent,” Termini said.
Boykins, the NBA’s smallest player (5-5, 133), finished 7th in the 2003 NBA Sixth Man of the Year voting. He averaged 8.8 points and 3.3 assists for Golden State last season. He also was 14th in the NBA in free throw percentage (86.5%) and 10th in the NBA in assists per turnover (3.03). He gained league-wide notoriety after scoring 10 points or more in the 4th quarter 12 times, helping Golden State to a 10-2 record in those games.
A 5-year NBA veteran, Boykins previously played for New Jersey, Cleveland, Orlando, and the LA Clippers prior to his stint with Golden State.
