Kenny Anderson Interview
By InsideHoops.com
We'll call this "30 seconds with Kenny Anderson."
InsideHoops.com and Anderson met and spoke in the Continental Airlines Arena after
a recent Nets-Pacers game. He's currently Indiana's starting point guard and is
playing a very key role on the team. The mini-interview is exclusive. Enjoy.
InsideHoops.com: Talk about fitting in on the Pacers, getting to know your teammates' abilities, etc.
Kenny Anderson: First of all, you know it's about sacrificing. I've been in the league 13 years. Basically, there are a lot of scorers on this team. That's not my job. Really, I just kind of set the table. Set our offense. Control the tempo, and get the ball to everybody in good situations. And just use my experience, and work. Be a leader out there.
InsideHoops.com: How do you go about learning the exact spots your teammates like to get the ball and how to best set them up?
Kenny Anderson: Just playing. You just have to play, use instincts. I've learned though practicing - Ron Artest, he can dribble, he can make his own shot. Reggie Miller comes off screens, so you have to get in the right position to make the right passes.
InsideHoops.com: How's it feel being a key part of a winning team again?
Kenny Anderson: It feels great. It's a long season, so we just got to keep getting better, keep playing.
InsideHoops.com: How much attention do you pay to other teams and how they're doing?
Kenny Anderson: I don't, really. It's too early right now. Just play, and when it gets time to think about positioning... right now it's early. Just got to go out and play.
