Raptors guard Alvin Williams has arthroscopic surgery
Raptors News | Dec. 7, 2005
The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday that guard Alvin Williams had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove bone spurs and clean-up scar tissue within the joint of his right knee. The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama.
Williams will begin rehabilitation after a brief recovery period. There is no set timetable for his return. This is the same knee that had a microfracture surgical procedure performed by Dr. Richard Stedman in November of 2004.
Williams began the season on the active roster but was placed on the inactive list November 7. He appeared in one game where he totaled one point and three assists in 10 minutes.
Williams spent the entire 2004-05 season on the injured list due to right knee inflammation. He is the team’s all-time leader in games played with 417.
